With a zeal to have a vacation in an amazing international destination, Srishti Puri chose Singapore as her holiday abode. Singapore offered her a modern and contemporary feel and turned out to be the perfect destination for an all ladies trip. She talks about her experience in Singapore and the amazing fantastical escape that it was. She booked her package from TravelTriangle and it included their hotels, sightseeing, and transfers all for a cost of INR 99,000.

I had been planning for a holiday since a long time and was keen to go to Europe. But since it was a far away destination, my sister, mother, and I finally choose the second best on our list – Singapore.

We booked our package from TravelTriangle and I had found them through a Facebook ad. The whole process of booking the hotels, sightseeing, and transfers was very easy since the travel agents connected via TravelTriangle were really helpful.

So finally when we were sorted with our package, all we had to do now was wait for the Ultimate day!

We boarded our flight from New Delhi and landed in Singapore. It was a smooth flight and immediately upon landing and coming out of the plane, we could sense the festive aura of Singapore. Excited for our journey, we quickly found the driver who was to transfer us to the hotel and proceeded on with a smile on our face. Finally, we were in Singapore!

Our hotel was nice and although we had to wait for half an hour due to check in formalities, we didn’t really mind since we were on our dream holiday – Me, my mother, sister, and niece.

After settling down and relaxing for a while, we proceeded for our first adventure of the trip – the Night Safari tour. We were excited for this tour for it is considered to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore.

The night safari was a great experience and here we had a good time witnessing the wildlife in the night. There were also many restaurants there and the whole place had a good vibe to it.

Out of everyone, my niece had the best time witnessing all the animals in their glory. It was indeed one of the most exclusive zoo experiences that I ever had!

Today, after the breakfast at the hotel, we had the thrilling Sentosa Island Tour in our itinerary. The agent’s driver picked us up and transferred us to the Sentosa Island. Since it was raining, we could not do many rides but the ones that we did were awesome.

Not wanting to the waste the entire day due to rains, we decided to get hold of the situation and visit the famous Trick-eye Museum in the island. Since this was a huge island, we had to board a bus to reach there.

The Trick-eye Museum was an entertaining experience. It had a 3D art world and also had many interactive characters in it. We clicked many photos and had a gala time over there.

Later, wanting to complete the rest of rides, we went back to the same place but this time again, we were disappointed since it was still raining.

Nonetheless, we proceeded to watch a show named Wings of Time and it was a brilliant experience. The show lasted for 25 minutes and was a treat to our eyes. It had a mesmerizing effect on us.

Later we had our dinner and called it a night!

Day 3: The amazing Universal Studios

Finally, our most exciting destination was on the cards. We left for the Universal Studios tour early morning, after a hearty breakfast at the hotel.

The Universal Studios had various adrenaline-pumping activities like roller coaster ride, transformer ride, and water show and we indulged in all of them!
Transformer ride gave us a thrilling experience and made us go crazy!

We had great fun during the water show too since it was a very enjoyable and cheerful show.

It was amazing to spend an entire day in this fantasy land and even though we did many things, we could not get enough!

My adorable niece was more than happy to be a part of this fun tour and we were glad to be able to spend quality time in her charming company.

Later in the evening, we returned to our hotel, had dinner and slept off to recharge ourselves fully after a long eventful day.

Day 4: The magnificent Singapore City Tour

Post the breakfast, we hurried for the Singapore city tour and left the hotel at around 10 AM in the morning. The guide took us to the Merlion park where we saw 2 grand statues and then proceeded for the Singapore flyer.

We clicked many pictures there for the place offered us a great scenic view.

Thereafter, we returned to our hotel, refreshed ourselves and then proceeded for another private tour at 1 at the Garden By The Bay. We saw 2 waterfront gardens there – the flower dome and the cloud forest.

Flower Dome showcased different trees and flowers from various regions and all of this was indoor! It was like a proper forest and vegetation area inside a building. Everything from sunlight to temperature was controlled by man here.

The cloud forest on the other hand was even better than the flower dome. One of the incredible highlights of this setting was the indoor waterfall for it looked no less captivating than the natural waterfalls.

Spectacular in its architecture, this garden was truly a masterpiece.

Later on, we went to a Mughal restaurant for a delicious dinner and then headed back to the hotel and called it a night.

Day 5: Sentosa Island Tour again!

Post a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, our guide arranged a trip for us to the Sentosa Island so that we enjoy all the rides we had missed on the rainy day.
Finally, we reached Sentosa again and this time had great fun! My niece was overjoyed with this amazing Sentosa tour and loved every bit of it.

Post the good times at Sentosa, we headed back to the hotel for check-out.

In the evening, we were to bid farewell to the magnificent Singapore but fate had something else in our store. When we reached the airport, the airport staff told us that our name was not included in the airline’s ticket list. Shocked, I enquired into the matter and found out that this was due to a faulty booking from the website’s end.

Day 6 & 7: Singapore extended for 2 more days

Srishti at the Marina Bay Sands hotel

Since there were no more flights for us, we had to extend our stay for 2 more days. Luckily, we made the most of these days and explored many more restaurants and parts of the Singapore city.

Among these were the famous Moghul Mahal restaurant and Little India where we got to try Indian food. We also explored the famous Mustafa market and bought a few souvenirs for our family and friends.

After spending 2 days at leisure, we boarded a flight back to India in the evening. Despite the flight delay we were able to spend the extended days comfortably thanks to the compensation received from the airport and our amazing hotel – Marina Bay Sands.

In the end, this trip was an amazing one and we had a great family bonding experience here.  My mother, sister, and niece were very happy and this was what mattered the most.

High Points: Universal Studios, Garden By The Bay, Sentosa Island, and Wings of time show.

Low Points: The guide (Singapore city tour) could have taken us to more places rather than sticking to just 2. We really wanted to visit the Chinese temple and wished he would have showed us this and more attractions.

    Tips for travelers:

    • Spare one full day for the Sentosa island tour for it offers a lot more options to explore like the underwater activities.
    • Do visit Little India- it provides good inexpensive food.
    • Be well informed about the places before you plan your trip.
    • You should be aware of the Internal bus services at Sentosa since you can then explore a lot more places in a faster manner.
