I am a frequent traveler who loves to explore new places. Traveling to me is relaxation and when I am traveling with my family, it helps me nurture bonds with my wife and kid. I want to travel the world with them and expose them to exciting experiences. This is why comfort and luxury become my topmost priorities when I am traveling with my family.

Malaysia has always been on my travel list. After I did some research, it seemed like an ideal destination for a family trip to me. I had heard about Traveltriangle from my friend who works here. So, I got in touch with a TT consultant who provided me with a good deal and an itinerary suiting best to my interests. Next thing you know, we were in Kuala Lumpur.

Here is the account of our 4N/5D family trip to Malaysia.

Our flight landed in Kuala Lumpur at 7:30 in the morning. We had this day to ourselves. After getting rid of our jet lag and recharging ourselves for the days ahead, we went out for some sightseeing in Malaysia. We went to Kuala Lumpur Tower from where we could sweep in the enchanting views of the urban capital. The next stop was the Mini Zoo that is located at the bottom of the KL Tower where our kids enjoyed a good deal watching animals that are not seen in India. My shopaholic wife then took us to the high-end Surya Mall which indeed is a heaven for shopping lovers.

Day 2: Excursion to Genting Highland & Batu Caves

The next day, we were picked up around 9 AM in a shared coach that took us to Genting Highlands, which is an integrated resort perched on the peak of Gunung Ulu overlooking the lush valleys of rainforests. But before, we made a stop at the Batu Caves, the iconic landmark of Kuala Lumpur. While the temple shrine boasts of impressive architecture, nature surrounding the place is no less breathtaking.

Our other stops included ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’ museum, Dinosaur Theme Park, and the Haunted House. Anyone visiting this part of Kuala Lumpur with their family ought to include these attractions to the itinerary.

We visited the City Gallery and other historical buildings in the capital. Our children enjoyed visiting the Chocolate Factory given the big sweet tooth they both have.

We took a local flight to Langkawi and reached there in the afternoon. We decided to stay in our room and relax instead of heading out for sightseeing. Being Indian food lovers, we were majorly missing the flavors back home. So, we picked up Indian food and enjoyed our desi meal in the hotel room.

    mesmerizing beauty of Langkawi

The best way to experience the mesmerizing beauty of Langkawi, an archipelago in the Andaman Sea, is by taking an island hopping tour. The white powdery beaches, blue azure waters, and clean beaches, it all felt so good to be there. One of the islands we visited on our tour had a lake right in the middle of the island, the beauty of which stunned us. Our day in Langkawi could not have been better.

Well, our vacation had come to an end but not fun. We took our kids to Underwater World, the island’s best-known attraction. We as adults too had a great share of fun. Since Langkawi is a duty-free zone, even the shopaholic in me couldn’t leash itself this time and we ended up buying a few bottles of liquor and huge varieties of chocolates at amazingly cheap rates.

    WOW Moments during the trip

The entire trip to Malaysia was memorable, filled with exciting and fun moments. Here are the highlights:

    • The views from the top of KL Towers were breathtaking
    • Experience at Mini Zoo was surprisingly amazing
    • The super exciting rides at Theme Park
    • The stunning Langkawi Island Hopping Tour
    • Underwater World in Langkawi
    • And of course, duty-free shopping. ;)

Did you stumble upon any negative experiences?

    • Our hotel in Kuala Lumpur was a business style hotel which did not really suit the requirements of a family on a vacation.
    • Since we are a big-time Indian food lovers, we had trouble finding Indian food in Malaysia as the options of Indian restaurants are sparse.
