Goa is a lilliputian paradise, which I had always heard of, but never visited before. It is a unique place, and a bit different from the rest of the Indian cities. There is so much to know and discover about Goa, that one needs to plan a really long vacation here. I had always wanted to visit the place and so, when I had to choose a place for my honeymoon vacation, there were no second thoughts I had about the destination I’d travel to. I knew I wanted to visit Goa and began my research on what would be the best experiences here for our honeymoon trip to Goa. I wanted to spend some quality time here with my wife on the beautiful beaches of Goa and enjoy everything that this place had to offer from beauty to hospitality, and food to other experiences.

As it was a honeymoon trip, I did not want any hassles, and wanted it to be a smooth experience for me and my wife. I also had a few ideas in my mind and wanted a trip planner that could plan my trip including all that I had thought of. Another question was that which honeymoon package is best? This is when I came across TravelTriangle which offers travelers with customized travel packages. I downloaded the TravelTriangle App and looked for the best packages available. In no time my query was addressed and I was provided with a travel package that included the places I requested for, well within my budget.

And now, our best experiences from Goa holiday!

1. Party scenes at the hotel

Arrived at Goa
our honeymoon suites
headed to the party
had a great evening

Goa is famous for its exciting party scenes and nightlife and we got the taste of it the very first day. There was a party organized at the hotel where we were staying and we came to know about it once we arrived at the hotel. After checking in we rested for a bit and in the evening headed to the party organized at the hotel. We were quite excited about it as Goa is known for its parties, and here was our first one. The preparations made by the hotel were really good. Everyone was welcoming and we had a great evening. The locals were really nice to us and quite hospitable. The food was tasty too and it was a night filled with dance and music.

2. Beach hopping in North Goa

Immaculate Conception Church
Aguada Fort
best experiences
soothing and peaceful

After a great start to our honeymoon trip, we were really excited to explore Goa and visit the beautiful beaches. The plan was to cover North Goa and visit various beaches followed by a visit to the famous Aguada Fort. We headed to Calangute Beach first. The place was quite touristy with a lot of food shacks. My wife and I walked along the shore as the water came splashing by. Next, we went to Baga Beach, which was just adjacent to Calangute. It had similar vibes and was the heart of North Goa. There were a lot of watersports happening here. We had lunch here and really enjoyed the seafood. The fishes were cooked in a different way. We really relished the Goan flavors.

Next on our list was Anjuna Beach. It was a beautiful beach and we clicked a lot of pictures here. Local women were selling pretty anklets and beaded necklaces. There were others who were painting temporary tattoos too. After a day of beach hopping, we went to Aguada Fort. Watching the sunset from the fort was one of the best experiences that we had. It was really soothing and peaceful. Later we returned back to our hotel where we enjoyed a delicious dinner.

3. Exploring the culturally rich city of Panjim

Panjim city
boat cruise
culturally rich city of Panjim
Immaculate Conception Church

We were really excited today, as the day entailed a boat cruise after Panjim city tour. At Panjim, we visited the Immaculate Conception Church. The church was beautiful and the main attraction of the city. We clicked a few pictures here before heading to the city market. The markets in Goa mainly had items that are available locally too, and therefore we didn’t shop a lot. We felt that the things were a bit overpriced but if someone is looking to shop here, then one can buy decorative items. Later we spend some time on the boat cruise on Mandovi river. The best part was the panoramic views of Panjim city. After an eventful day, we returned back to our hotel.

4. Day excursion to the magnificent Dudhsagar Falls

Dudhsagar Falls
scenic beauty
falls were magnificent
Goan Spice Farm

We headed out early on our fourth day of the trip as the distance to Dudhsagar Falls was quite a lot. It was 4 hours travel single side, but the traveling was worth it. The route was scenic and the falls were magnificent. We enjoyed the scenic beauty of the place a lot and clicked pictures as fond remembrances of our trip. After spending time at the waterfalls, we left for the Goan Spice Farm. This was another highlight of our trip where we got a guided tour of the farm and a hearty meal. We were served food on banana leaves, just the way Goans have it. The food was delicious and after resting here for a while we headed back to our hotel.

5. Bid Goa goodbye

Today we had our flight back. The time passed too quickly and our trip came to an end. I wish we were here for a longer time. Goa is a place to be covered over a couple of days and one should plan a long vacation here. But we had limited days for our trip and on the fifth day, we returned back.

Tips For Future Travelers

  • I would suggest others that if Goa is where they are headed, then do not plan a trip of fewer than 10 days or a week at least. Goa is a beautiful place and one should explore it slowly soaking in all the experiences.
  • If you are looking for famous places to shop in Goa, then you can head to Panjim. But before buying anything do bargain as the prices are usually quoted high because of the foreigners.
  • Goa is a great place to explore and party and if you are wondering which is better North Goa or South Goa, then both these places have different experiences to offer. If you want to party, then visit North Goa, and if a more tranquil and peaceful vacation is on your mind, then head to South Goa. We went with a party mood and found North Goa better.
  • Try to leave early for day excursions as the weather during the day is hot and some places take a long time to reach like the Dudhsagar Falls, which were a 4-hour journey one side.
