For me traveling is as essential as water is for plants (not that water isn’t important, it definitely is, but I’m hoping you got the reference.) It’s something that helps me learn & grow, I love doing, and enjoy utmost. It’s been a lot of years since I have been traveling, mostly in the Himalayas, and I can’t imagine my life without it. So now, when both my wife and I had to escape for a refreshing break, the Northeast seemed like the perfect holiday destination to us.
It was while we were listing down the things to do on a Northeast holiday, my friend recommended TravelTriangle to us. Their smooth booking process and unique holiday planning came in handy and ensured that we had a kick-ass time together!

Things To Do In Northeast That Made Our Holiday Impeccable
Day 1: Relaxing amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Northeast
We began our journey from Mumbai and reached the Bagdodra Airport in no time. As soon as we landed, we were picked up by our cab driver who then took us to our hotel. The first day of our holiday was scheduled for some leisure time and soaking up the peace amidst the nature, and we made the most of it.
Day 2: Exploring the beautiful attractions of Sikkim
We began the second day by ticking off the top things to do on a Northeast holiday, which majorly included a surreal visit to Changu Lake, the famous Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, taking a serene city tour of Gangtok, and witnessing the Ganesh Tonk.
All of these places were a mesmerizing sight and too pleasing for both our eyes and the soul. The first two days of our trip were so thrilling that we couldn’t wait for the rest of the experiences.
Day 3: Visiting Lachen and witnessing the Seven Sisters Waterfall
Visiting the gorgeous town of Lachen is amongst the best things to do on a Northeast holiday. So, we were sure that we had to visit it. The subtlety of this town is heart warming, and we were in awe the moment we reached here.

This day, we left for the town, and witnessed the breathtakingly beautiful Seven Sisters Waterfall on our way. It was as captivating as it’s been talked about. Later, we returned to the hotel and relaxed for the rest of the day.
Day 4: Exploring Chopta Valley
Chopta Valley is one of the most beautiful gems in the Northeast and witnessing it is no less than a delight. Around 5 in the morning, we left for the Gurudongmar Lake, and then headed straight to Chopta Valley. It was an eventful day and we had captured enough beauty to keep our hearts satisfied.
Later, we checked out of the hotel and left for Lachung. The beautiful yet tiring drive of five hours left us a bit exhausted so we called it a day, and relaxed in the hotel for the night.
Day 5: Visiting Yumthang Valley and Lachung
Exploring the Yumthang Valley was a soul-satisfying experience. We visited the hot springs, savored the local delicacies, and spent a beautiful time before leaving for Gangtok.
Also, we stopped by at the hotel to catch a quick nap so that we could restore our energy for the remaining trip.
Day 6: Enjoying a toy train ride in Darjeeling
A soothing four hour drive took us to Darjeeling where we were left smitten after seeing the natural beauty of the place. Darjeeling is the queen of the hills, and there is no doubt about it.
We spent the day enjoying the fun-filled toy train ride and it was a complete joy. Admiring the gorgeous views of Darjeeling, and capturing a zillion more memories made our day memorable and our romantic holiday unforgettable.
Day 7: Admiring the beauty of Kanchenjunga and shopping
The spectacular view of Kanchenjunga ranges absolutely made our morning and also the last day of the holiday more special. Of all the things to do in Darjeeling for couples, heading to the market for shopping was one we really wanted to do, and we did. Walking in the town and looking at the local handicrafts was again a treat to our eyes. Later on, we checked out from the hotel and left for our journey back home with a gazillion memories in our heart and our camera!
