Warm-hearted hospitality, beautifully sunny and chilly weather, Tibetan Buddhism culture, mighty mountain ranges, spiritual shrines, and exquisite valleys combine to form the mountain kingdom of Sikkim. One of the smallest states in India, Sikkim is a place that will easily make you fall in love with it. Looking for a special destination that would not only be cozy but also embrace hints of romance, Vinutanand and his wife landed to Sikkim for their honeymoon trip to start their life journey together. There is nothing better than a destination that is a fine concoction of serenity, tranquility, and prettiness. Sikkim has everything and more to ensure there is no stone left unturned when it comes to comfort and romance and their Sikkim tour for couples justified these facts beautifully.
My wife and I both wanted a destination that would not only be special but also worth visiting and that would help us connect with each other more. Wishing for a location that would help us get away from the crowd, provide us peace and calmness, and not be heavy on our pockets seemed impossible till we came across Sikkim. And we are so glad we decided on Sikkim as it was one of the best experiences we have had so far. Our whole trip, starting from booking our Sikkim tour for couples with TravelTriangle to exploring the destination went butter smooth and hassle-free. The friendly locals and warm hospitality shown by the chauffeur and the hotel staff simply added to our already great experience.

Weather In Sikkim
We traveled to this beautiful destination in February and Sikkim cheerfully welcomed us with shining sun and extremely pleasant weather in the day time. The temperature must have been around 8 degrees Celsius. Although, the temperature used to drop down immensely at night and reach near zero degrees. Zero temperature turned out to be the best time to visit Sikkim for us as we thoroughly enjoyed it and will surely cherish this memory forever. Do check out the climatic conditions when reserving your Sikkim tour for couples as the weather plays an important role on a trip to Sikkim.

A Few Beautiful Places To Visit In Sikkim That Soothed Our Souls
The pleasant weather, jaw-dropping views, fluffy white snow, and the delicious food simply made our honeymoon to Sikkim delightful. Below are a few of the most amazing and memorable experiences that we will cherish forever!
1. Lachung – Where We Spent A Day Amidst Snow And Waterfalls
The roads to this glorious mountain village were nestled among the valleys and rivers. This journey itself was so peaceful and serene that it almost made us feel like we are roaming around a foreign land. Our escapade to Lachung place was certainly worth it. En route Lachung we took a short trip to Singhik view point and the proud snow-capped mountains sitting in the lap of puffy clouds left our jaws dropped till the ground. Pristine waterfalls in Lachung were enough to take our tiredness and fatigue from the long drive away.
2. Enchey Monastery – The Most Peaceful Place In The State
We would surely recommend more honeymooners to pay a visit to this peaceful and serene monastery. Helping us get an insight into Tibetan Buddhism culture, the Enchey Monastery in Gangtok was surrounded by the essence of spirituality and peacefulness. The tall pine trees, flowery meadows, and mesmerizing views of the Kanchenjunga hills were extremely soul-soothing and made our Sikkim tour for couples even better.
3. Yumthang Valley – Where We Embraced The Child In Us
Yumthang Valley blankets gorgeous mountains and divine flowing rivers which makes it looks like heaven on earth. The clear blue waters, a beautiful little town with magnificent mountains as a backdrop, and Zero Point with nothing but icy white snow made Yumthang valley look glorious. We explored, played around in the snow for a little before filling our stomachs with a bowl of steaming hot Maggie at Zero Point. It was truly an experience to remember on out Sikkim honeymoon tour .
4. Tsomgo Lake – Which Filled Our Hearts With Happiness
The enticing beauty of clear blue waters surrounded by mighty mountains left us speechless. Rugged mountain terrain, mighty cliffs, and the winding roads make this lake a must-visit. I would definitely suggest traveling to the lake especially to the new couples as strolling around the lake in bitter winters is nothing less than romantic. The picturesque and scenic views, beautifully decorated yaks by the lake, stalls serving snacks and beverages completed our need for a wonderful experience and turned our Sikkim tour for couples even more romantic.
How To Reach Sikkim
You can fly to Gangtok Airport and take a cab from there to anywhere in the city. You can also take a train to New Jalpaiguri Railway Junction (188 km away from Sikkim) or Siliguri Railway Station (145 km away from Sikkim). Once you reach here, you can cover the rest of the distance by a state-run bus, private bus, or a taxi. Driving to Sikkim is also a fun option. You can grab a seat in any of the public and private bus services that connect Sikkim with nearby towns and cities.
Food In Sikkim
We think that one of the best ways to get in touch with the authenticity of a state is via the food and Sikkim food is to die for. The dish that we devoured almost every day on our eight days long honeymoon trip was hot, fresh, and delicious momos. We couldn’t get enough of how tasty they are. We mostly indulged in the enticing, freshly-made, authentic street food including fish, Thenthuk, Thukpa and fruit salads from the local vendors. Sikkim being one of the best sellers of fresh fruits and vegetables, we had to give the salads a try!
Shopping In Sikkim
A little shopping escapade can soon turn into a huge shopping spree even if you don’t have much time on your hands as the variety and quality of the products sold in the Pashupathi market is truly amazing. Located right across the border in Nepal, shopping in this market can get a little difficult to avoid. We bought a number of winter clothing and cosmetics at very economical rates which made this experience even better. Other shopping markets that one can drop by on their honeymoon trip to Sikkim include Lal Bazaar and MG Marg. Tibetan carpets, decorative artifacts, handicrafts, woolens, and souvenirs are a few things that visitors can spend their money on.
What To Pack For Sikkim Trip
The harsh and bitter weather surrounding the atmosphere in Sikkim in February calls for everything woolen and thick that one can find in their wardrobe. The temperatures might fall down to as low as 2 degrees Celsius and thus February tends to get really cold in Sikkim. So when planning the Sikkim tour for couples during the winter season, it is advised that one pack thermal inner wears, jackets, caps, mufflers, gloves, and warm socks along. For footwear, it is suggested that one carries a pair of comfortable and warm shoes. For taking a trip to the Zero Point in Yumthang Valley, one should definitely pack long overcoats, knee-high boots, and other significant snow gear to avoid any kind of frostbite.
