“Kashmir breathes within its locals and visitors alike with a pulse that they can sense, a heartbeat that they can feel and an expression that they can personify.”
Truer words have never been spoken. I chose kashmir for my honeymoon because it is popularly known as the ‘Paradise on Earth’. Its scenic splendour, snow-capped mountains, bountiful flora-fauna, and kind people are the reasons why tourists love Kashmir so much.
Whether it is winter or summer, the undulating charm of Kashmir will leave you spellbound, and overwhelming at times. We had such an amazing time during our 5 days in Kashmir during winter. I am still under the spell this valley had cast on me.

Kashmir Weather In November
November is the winter month in Kashmir. So, we were lucky to enjoy snowfall and outdoor snow activities like skiing, snowboarding. During this month, the whole valley looks like a snowy wonderland. The temperature was as low as 4 degrees Celsius. Thank god, we had packed enough woolens with us.
Best Experiences During 5 Days In Kashmir
Here are the best highlights of our 5 days in Kashmir
Gulmarg had become a snowy wonderland. It was full of snow as the snowfall occurred in almost every 10 minutes. Our visit to Gulmarg was exciting. We had so much fun skiing and snowboarding. We also took photos in those traditional dresses since it is customary every time you visit a hill station. Lol
2. Saffron Fields
Our ride from airport to Pahalgam was an awesome experience, visually speaking. We made a few stops on the way like Apple Valley, Kashmir Valley, Baisaran- the Mini Switzerland of India etc. The weather was cold but it was amazing. We also saw saffron fields in Pampore on our way. Now we know why it is so expensive to buy. It was really a heaven on earth.
3. Dal Lake
How could we not stay on a houseboat in Dal Lake on our honeymoon in Kashmir? Staying in one of the houseboats on Dal Lake is a mesmerizing and definitely a unique experience. We enjoyed complimentary meals (breakfast and dinner) during our stay on the houseboat. The views from the boat were exhilarating. Taking a boat ride anywhere you had to go on the lake was really fun.

Restaurants In Kashmir
We did not try any other restaurant apart from the hotel restaurant we were staying at. It gave us the comfort of room service so that we wouldn’t have to go out. Also, we were happy with the North Indian cuisine being offered at the hotel as it was quite awesome. So, it was a win-win for us. However, if you wish to try Kashmir street food, you could
What To Buy From Kashmir
There are a lot of things that Kashmir is famous for like wooden artefacts, walnuts, saffron, Pashmina shawls, etc. I would really suggest to buy original handicraft specially made by hand in Kashmir only eg shawls and carpet.
What To Pack For Kashmir Trip
Since we went to Kashmir in November, we were cautious about the weather and kept enough woolens to keep ourselves warm. For our 5 days in Kashmir, we packed jackets, woolen cap and socks, shawl, sweaters, and thermals.
