The area is rich in the species of animals found here include birds like oystercatcher, cormorant ostriches and the endangered and rare Afrikaans Coastal land Penguins are amongst the many species of birds found here. It is recommended that you come either early in the morning or late in the evening to witness the spectacular scenes of Sunset and Sunrise in the Bay Area near Cape Point. The Park is open all year round from 6 AM – 6 PM in the months of October to March, and 7 AM – 5 PM in the months of April to September.

There’s currently no public service that goes to the Nature Reserve from the city of Cape Town. You have majorly two options in front of you to reach the Cape Point Nature Reserve:

By Car: Rent a car from the CBD in Cape Town. Take about one and a half hour scenic drive from the City of Cape Town to the park and enjoy the smooth roads and beauty of nature on your way.
By Bus: The second option is the Cape-Point Explorer Bus Service. The Cape-point explorer bus services have fully air-conditioned buses with multilingual guides onboard with each one of them being fluent in English at least.
