    The century-old deserted Charleville Mansion was built in the British Era and rented in 1913 by the British officer Victor Bayley & his wife. However, there was another resident – a poltergeist – that they were unaware of. On hearing the tales of the poltergeist from a local, the British officer tried to test the authenticity of these tales. He locked the room where most of these paranormal activities were reported. When he opened the room, he found it shattered. Thereafter, Bayleys and the subsequent residents have reported many similar stories and the house became popular as one of the haunted places in Shimla.

    2. Kundanbagh Witches’ Lair in Hyderabad

    As per a popular folklore, a thief broke into this 2-storey house in Kundanbagh and discovered dead bodies of the 3 owners. Scared from the very sight, the thief went to report the case to the police. While the forensic reports declared the date of death to be roughly 3 months prior to the break-in, the neighbors claimed to have seen the mother & her 2 daughters even until a day prior to the discovery of their dead bodies. They even claimed to have seen the lighting of candles in the house at midnight. Ever since, the house is considered to be one of the most haunted places in Hyderabad.

This haunted house was once inhabited by the rich landlords of Bengal who tortured & exploited women. Locals claim to have heard crying & voices of females.

    Doice Vas and Vera Vas – daughters of a famous lawyer – used to reside in the Vas Villa on St. Mark’s Road. One day, Doice was murdered in the villa. While she was buried there, Vera decided to move out. Claimed to be one of the haunted houses in India, the villa is said to be home to the spirit of Doice. These claims have been strengthened by the reports of teams looking for paranormal activities that mention the presence of some form of negative energy in the villa.

    This haunted house in Delhi is said to be the home to the spirits of an elderly couple that was murdered here a few years back. The house has remained abandoned ever since the tragedy.     D’Mello House in Santemol is one of the most haunted places in Goa. The house was once home to two brothers. One of them killed the other over a property feud. People have, ever since, reported hearing screams at night that they claim to be of the dead brother. It is also said that the house is now under a curse that no family will ever be able to harmoniously divide the estate.

    Another popular haunted house in India, the Rodrigues’ Home in Verna (Goa) is home to spirits of the Rodrigues family. There have been sightings of windows & doors opening at will, lights flickering, cutlery moving in the kitchen, and linens appearing & disappearing at midnight.

If you visit the house at the late hours, she opens the door and offers all the hospitality that a guest must get. People claim to have seen her closing the door in the darkness of early morning.

After the death of the young child of the owner under mysterious circumstances, the couple went back to London.
