We were really planning to go on a vacation for a very long time. And we knew that it was Ladakh where we wanted to go. It was because the place is very different from any other destination in the entire country. No hill station has a similar landscape as Ladakh. Moreover, we also thought that because of the lower oxygen level maybe once we have kids or grow old, visiting this destination can become a little problematic for us. Soon we started to plan our trip. We got in touch with Traveltriangle and very soon they came up with our Ladakh itinerary of 9 days.

Ladakh’s Weather

We took this trip in August and we got really lucky since the entire place was flourishing with greenery and beautiful flowers. The weather was nice, pleasant and a bit cold. But Nubra Valley was hot in the afternoons.

Details Of Our 9 Days In Ladakh

While in Ladakh we visited a whole lot of areas and we ticked off every popular tourist destination. Here’s the list of places that we went to.

1. Magnetic Hills

visiting to leh with friends
enjoying the time with friends
night view from the camp

Visiting Magnetic Hills was one of the first things that we did when we reached Ladakh. There isn’t much to see other than experiencing the magnetic pull on the road.

2. Gurudwara Patthar Sahib

on the way clicking pictures
having good time

This is one of the most popular places to visit when here. The must-see here is the giant rock that has Guru Nanak’s back embedded on one side of it and a big food of a demon on the other side who tried to kill Guru Nanak with that rock. We were really happy to have this place added to our Leh Ladakh itinerary of 9 days.

3. Nubra Valley

enjoyed our stay at Nubra valley
a lot of greenery
sitting in the beautiful valley of flowers
witness the amazing beauty
enjoyed the camel ride

Though it was a bit hot, we really enjoyed our stay at Nubra Valley. We were amidst a lot of greenery and beautiful flowers. Here we stayed in camps and loved the whole experience.

4. Pangong Lake

visited and Pangong Lake
amazing view of the lake
the serene beauty

Of course, we visited and Pangong Lake. We camped here but it was a little too cold for camping here. We really appreciated the serene beauty and absolute silence here.

5. Tsomoriri Lake

natural beauty of the lake
sindhu ghat river
great time on vacation
enjoyed through out the journey
at khardungla pass with friends

It is located 220 km from Leh and is widely popular for its natural beauty. We were absolutely speechless seeing the beauty of this lake. Here you can see some exotic migratory birds as this is a reeding area for birds like Brahimini Duck, Bar Headed Goose, Black Naked Cranes, etc.

Our Hotels In Ladakh

During our vacation, we stayed in multiple places like hotels and camps. Here is how our experience was like:

1. Sand Dunes View Resort

We liked our stay at this property. The rooms were nice and cozy and had all the basic amenities that we neede during the stay. We really enjoyed our stay here after a long tiring day.

2. Pangong Delight Camp

Our stay in this camp was also very enjoyable. Even though it was a bit cold but we really loved the whole experience of staying at a camp under the open sky lit with millions of stars.

3. Tsomoriri Lake View Hotel

This again was a good hotel where the staff was also very helpful. The rooms were nice and equipped with all the basic amenities and facilities. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Even the food was good that we thoroughly enjoyed.

How To Reach Ladakh

All four of us are from Dehradun. We took a flight to Ladakh from New Delhi. But when we had to return, our flight got canceled. The next flight that we were getting was from Srinagar. So we traveled to Srinagar and then back to Delhi.

Our Budget For The Ladakh Trip

Our budget was INR 20000 for two people which included a few of our meals and a few tours and activities that we got indulged in along with a little bit of shopping.

Shopping In Ladakh

We did not shop much in Ladakh. We just bout a few souvenirs. Since the prices of everything were hiked due to the heavy tourism we decided not to indulge in too much of shopping. People can buy dry fruits from here since the place is known for it. But I recommend that you find a shop that sells dry fruits, not on exorbitant prices.

Ladakh Food

A lot of our meals were included in our package at our hotels itself. But we still tried a lot of food in the markets from small eateries. What we absolutely loved was that we could enjoy tons of momos guilt-free since they were made of wheat grain and not maida ( white flour). Eben rotis were made of wheat grain. People can also try a lot of cafes here and keep themselves warm sipping on hot coffee, tea or thukpa.

What To Pack For 9 Days Ladakh Trip

  • Inner thermals are a must-pack
  • Windcheaters to save yourself from the cold winds
