Travel is a relaxing way for me to escape from the work life and take a break outside the hustle bustle of the metropolitan cities. I and my friends were all excited to explore this scenic part of the north-east. We arrived at the New Jalpaiguri railway station and from there we started our journey towards Gangtok in an Innova car which was provided to us.

As expected we were mesmerized by the surreal beauty of the surroundings enroute Gangtok. During the entire trip, we spent three days in Gangtok and explored the various things like shopping, museum tour and adventurous activities.
While the first and the third day went all in local sightseeing and exploring local markets, on the fifth day in Gangtok we experienced paragliding before heading off to Darjeeling.

On the second day of our trip, we started our journey towards Lachen early in the morning. Before heading towards Lachung we halted at Gurudongmar lake. The moment we reached near the lake we were all mesmerized by the beauty of the blue lagoon lake which is surrounded by the gigantic mountain ranges covered by snow.
When we reached near Lachen, we halted at a military camp to have coffee and some snacks. Before leaving for Lachung, we also explored the local market of Lachen and relished a delicious meal. Later when we reached Lachung we experienced the rainfall and later we checked-in to our hotel to call it a day off.

The last day was very gloomy for us as none of us wanted to leave this heaven like place. But still we had a complete day to explore the treasures of Darjeeling.
Our first stop over was at the lush-green tea plantations from where we headed to the Himalayan Institute and the Darjeeling zoo which shelters the rare species of red panda. The day was jam packed with many places to be explored like the museums
