Trip Itinerary Of Mauritius Honeymoon
Here is how we spent 5 days in Mauritius. Each day was truly splendid and we got enough time to cover major attractions and also have ample time to ourselves.
Day 1: Hello, Mauritius!
We arrived in Mauritius and were picked by our representative at the airport. We checked in our hotel. We spent the rest of the day settling in and wandering around.
Day 2: Ile aux Cerfs
We enjoyed a full-day excursion to Ile Aux Cerfs, an emerald lagoon on the east coast. We were stumped by the beauty of its sandy beaches and beautiful lagoon. There was a wide range of facilities and activities. It was one of the best highlights of our 5 days in Mauritius. We even enjoyed water sports activities on our island tour.
Day 3: Port Louis
We drove to Port Louis for sightseeing. Our first stop was the Citadel & its surrounding area. Then we visited the Champ de Mars racecourse. It was inaugurated in 1812 making it the oldest horse-racing club in the Southern Hemisphere, and one of the oldest in the world too. Afterward, we drove to Le Caudan, the beautiful Waterfront where there were some 170 shops and restaurants. It is a must-visit if you like shopping and fine-dining experience.
Day 4: Chameral Village & Trous aux Cerfs
On this day of our 5 days in Mauritius, we visited the ship-making factory in Curepipe and enjoyed shopping at the duty-free shops in Floreal. The views of the scenic town of Curepipe & its surroundings from the extinct crater of Trou aux Cerfs were astounding. In the afternoon, we drove through the nature park of Black River & Plaine Champagne to Chamarel village. We also made a stop at Grand Bassin Sacred Lake and laid our eyes on the stunning 108 feet statue of “Mangal Mahadev”. The next stop was Chamarel, the unusual 7 colored earth created by volcanic rocks. The views of the Chamarel waterfalls were startling.
Day 5: Casela Bird Park
We went to Casela Bird park since we had the whole day to ourselves. We watched so many birds in this park and even saw a huge turtle. Walking with the lions was also an enthralling experience. The best experience, however, was safari quad biking in the park.
Day 6: Hasta la Vista, Mauritius
After breakfast, we checked out of our hotel and left for the airport to catch our flight back to Chennai.
