Celebrating your marriage anniversary with little wanderlust is always a good idea and that is what Sonalika did. She took a family trip to Bali with her husband and her 2-year old munchkin to celebrate love and togetherness on their fifth marriage anniversary.
Sonalika and her husband like slow and comfortable traveling so that they can savor the moments and make long-lasting memories. For her, traveling is an escape from the mundanes of everyday life and spending some quality time with the family. She likes to go to places where she can meet new people and have exciting adventures.
For their fifth marriage anniversary and their daughter’s first international trip, a tropical destination with diverse experiences seemed a likely choice. Bali, with its intriguing volcanoes, iconic temples, and undulating beauty, perfectly fit the bill. Since they were traveling with their daughter, they preferred lesser travel time and short distances between the attractions.
Here is how the lovely family had a blast on their family trip to Bali:

Day 1: Arrival in Kuta
We arrived at the Bali Airport in the afternoon where we were picked up by the driver. We checked in the pool-facing room of Grand Ixora Resort. The ambiance of the resort was nice and cozy. We decided to be a little daring and ordered one of the local dishes from the menu. Frankly, it did not go well along our Indian taste buds.
In the evening, we headed out to explore the famous Kuta market and enjoy the nightlife. We had a sumptuous dinner at Queens of India. We were very pleased and amazed to find authentic Indian flavors in the foreign land.
Day 2: Trip to Sacred Monkey Forest and Rice Plantations
A Cruise From Mumbai To Bali Via Goa And Andaman: What More Could One Ask For!
We woke up late in the morning due to our jet lag and missed our schedule for Barong Dance and Village sites in Kintamani. Without wasting any further time, we headed straight to the picturesque coffee and rice plantations. We could smell the aroma of coffee beans lingering in the air and even bought some samples of fresh coffee.
Sacred Monkey, our next stop, was great fun. My daughter enjoyed watching the Balinese long tail monkeys in the park. She had so much fun that she didn’t want to come back. We had a scenic lunch at the top of Mount Batur. It was one of the finest experiences of our trip. The air was nippy and the views all around were simply exhilarating.
Day 3: Uluwatu Temple and Tegenungan Waterfall
How To Spend Quality Time On A Romantic Honeymoon Trip To Bali
We went to see the famous sea temple – Uluwatu and were awestruck by the arresting location of the temple. Walking to Tegenungan Waterfalls was an adventurous experience. The reason we chose this waterfall over others was that it had a shorter walking distance which made it easier to carry our daughter. We enjoyed a delectable lunch with enchanting views of the waterfall. Before we headed back to the hotel, we did some shopping.
Day 4: Tanah Lot Tour
We went to the Tanah Lot Temple in the evening to avoid heavy traffic during the day. I wish we had not missed the spectacular sunset. The location of the temple is so picturesque. We went to the mall to check out some Bali stuff. The horse cart ride back to the hotel was an amazing end to the day.
Day 5: ‘Treat yourself’ Day
A Cartoon Network Theme Water Park In Bali Is Opening Soon & The Kid In Us Can’t Keep Calm!
On our last day at our resort, I pampered myself with Bali Special Spa and Massage Therapy which was a real stress buster followed by fun and frolic by the poolside. We were then transferred to Arman Villas in Seminyak and boy, did we fall in love with our new resort! We had delicious pizza for lunch and spent the entire day relaxing by the villa pool.

Day 6: Romantic Dinner Cruise
Indulge In These Must-Do Things On A Flawless Bali Honeymoon, Just Like They Did!
After a quick shopping tour in Seminyak Square, we went to the coastal side of the town for our evening dinner cruise. We were ushered with a warm welcome on the Bali Hai Romantic Cruise. We had qualms about how our 2-year old daughter would react to the ambiance of the cruise. But everything turned out beyond fine. Her happiness knew no bounds as she ran amuck on the deck. We were chasing after her the whole time we were on the cruise. One of her most enjoyable moments was when she danced like a diva with the performers. We really enjoyed the heart-filling dinner and the spectacular live dance performances put up by the Balinese dancers.
Day 7: Bali Safari
Bali vs Malaysia: Choose Your Kind Of Honeymoon Destination!
Our impromptu Wildlife Safari Tour was a gift to our daughter on our marriage anniversary. She was so thrilled to see all those wild animals. She absolutely loved the live shows and aquarium and cheered up the whole time. We were really looking forward to visiting the marine park but it was under construction.
Day 8: Last stop at Double Six Beach
Our family trip to Bali came to an end at Double Six Beach. We avoided any water sports activity keeping in mind the safety of our daughter. We just wish we had more time to explore the exotic beaches of Bali.
WOW Moments from the trip
- The highpoint for us on the trip was how much fun our baby girl had during the vacation. She is the one who made the most of our family trip. There is not even a single day when she doesn’t recall the Monkey Temple and Wildlife Safari.
- The romantic stay at the luxurious Arman Villas was a brilliant idea to celebrate our fifth anniversary together.
- Bali Hai Cruise was truly a splendid experience for the whole family. It is one of the few places in Bali where we enjoyed good-tasting Indian Food.
Low points on your trip
- We missed out on a few attractions and experiences in Bali. Had we planned better, we would have got a plenty of time to explore the beaches and cultural side of Ubud.
- We experienced heavy traffic in the city of Ubud which consumed most of our time on the trip.
- The wifi at Grand Ixora Hotel was too slow.
Did you miss out on anything
We could not enjoy water sports activities since were strapped for time.
Overall Experience with TravelTriangle
We had a really great experience with TravelTriangle. We found the booking process and comparison of quotes easy and convenient. The best part about the whole process was the timely bookings and splitting up the payments.
