    In the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra lies the Tadoba Andhari National park which shelters around 43 tigers till date. The tiger reserve is one of the fifty tiger reserves in India which also happens to be the largest and oldest national park in the state. The name of the national park was kept after the name of the God “Tadoba” who is worshipped by the local tribes, and Andhari is the name of the river which meanders between the forest.

    Best Time To Visit Tadoba National Park

    To get a close glimpse of the tigers, March to May is the best time to plan a tour to the Tadoba National Park. The summer season in the region is extreme especially during the month of May. Whereas during the monsoon season which lasts from June to September, the forest looks much greener and fresh. Post monsoon, the wildlife sanctuary comes alive as the flowers bloom and the tigers can be easily spotted walking in the forest.

    The nearest international airport from the Tadoba National Park is the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport situated in Nagpur. It is located at a distance of 140 kms from the national park. The airport is well connected with the major airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata. From the airport, a cab or a taxi can be hired to reach the national park.

    For the people traveling by train, Chandrapur railway station is the nearest railhead from the Tadoba tiger reserve. Located 45 kms away from the railway station, the station connects to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Jhansi. From the railway station, there is an easy availability of buses and taxis to reach the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.

    There is an easy connectivity of buses and taxis from Nagpur to reach Tadoba National Park. Chandrapur (45 kms), and Chimur (32 kms) are the two nearest bus stops to reach the tiger reserve. The state-run buses are available from Nagpur to the Tadoba reserve on frequent intervals and there is also an easy connectivity to nearby cities like Raipur, Pune, Hyderabad, etc., by road.

Settled at the southwest part of the reserve, the lake acts as a moderator between the forest and the farmland which extends upto the Irai water reservoir.     A gateway to the Mohrali zone, this village is located at a distance of 6.5 kms from the Tadoba National Park.
