1. Somanatheshwara Temple

Historically, it is said to have been built by the Kings of Alupa Dynasty in the 10th century A.D. The temple was under the Administrative rule of Kadambas of Banavasi and Choula Kings of Ullala of the 12th century A.D. The temple is dedicated to Someshwara, another name for the Hindu god Shiva, and the fort-like structure is believed to date back to the 10th or 11th century. The Jathra Mahotsava is the grand festival held here. It is a seven-day ritual with many poojas and splendour. Laksha Deepotsava is held in the temple in Tula Masa. On the day, the Kshetra pooja is held in the beginning, and then the Appada pooja and Ranga pooja of Sri Siddivinayaka is held. On Shivarathri day, Shiva pooja, Ranga pooja rituals are held, and Bhootabali is given.

This rocky island is known for its picturesque beauty. Basavappa Naik of Bidanur constructs the fort on this island. Visitors can see an old factory of Mangalore Tiles and a few temples near the fort. Basavappa Naik of Bidanur constructed the fort. A few temples and the oldest tile factory of Malpe are situated near the fort. The Daria Bahadurgad Island is one of the famous islands in Malpe. 3. St. Sebastian Church

St Sebastian Parish Church, Permannur, was originally a part of Ullal (later called Panir) church. In 1913, Fr Joseph Menezes of Ullal obtained 15 acres of land, where Fr Lawrence Fernandes built a chapel in Babbukatte. On being detached from Ullal into a separate chapel, Fr S V Rebello (1918-1926) became the first chaplain on February 1, 1918. The hall was completed in just 10 months by the hard work of Fr. Cyprian Pinto. The hall can contain 1000 people, including a dressing room, toilets, area for food supply, parking & other benefits.

Sulthan Bathery is famous for its prehistoric Edakkal caves and a legendary Jain temple that dates back to the 13th century. During the invasion of Malabar by Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan, the Mysore army used the town as the storeroom or battery for its ammunition. It used a 13th-century Ganapathi Temple located here as a battery. Thus, the town known as “Sultan’s Battery” in British records later became called “Sultan Bathery”.
