Antriksh Kakkar talks about his fantastic honeymoon trip to Singapore and Bali. He recalls his journey to include a mix of lush greenery, modern lifestyle, and scenic surroundings making it not less than an exotic cocktail one can only dream off. He booked his package via TravelTriangle and it included his flights, hotels, cruise, and sightseeing all for a cost of INR 221999.

I have traveled internationally, but those trips were mostly for business. This was the first time that I was visiting a foreign country for a personal reason and it was special, it was our honeymoon trip!
Singapore and Bali were on my mind since a long time for they offered me a perfect combination of nature, lifestyle, and culture.

I found TravelTriangle via an internet ad while I was searching for honeymoon packages. Finding it intuitive and easy to use, I filled in my relevant details and soon received multiple quotes and itineraries from different travel agents connected through TravelTriangle. I chose the one that suited my requirements and was soon sorted with my flight, stay, and sightseeing.

Day 1: Singapore

A beach in Singapore

We had a pleasant flight from India to Singapore. We easily got a seat in coach on landing and were subsequently transferred to our hotel. We didn’t do much that day since we were tired from the journey and called it a night.

Day 2: The cruise begins – Penang

Star Cruise in Singapore

We began our cruise ride on this day. The ship was full of activities, and everyone was in the mood for fun and frolic. The rooms there were of average quality, but the beach on the Penang island was nice and looked similar to the ones that we have in Goa.

Day 3: Cruise – Langkawi Island

Our next stop on the cruise was the Langkawi Island and it was majestic. The beaches were serene, nice, and comparatively emptier. The natural experience there was so pristine that it engulfed my senses.

Day 4: Back to Singapore

The cruise had ended and we returned to Singapore. It took around 1.5 hours for us to get our seats in coach (SIC) this time, for the guy responsible for it was dealing with a large crowd. We reached our same hotel and retired for the night.

This day, we were taken to the Universal Studios and it was an amazing experience.

There were a lot of rides, but those were mostly for children. However, there were 3-4 rides were for the adults too and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed those. Universal Studio in general, was amazing and I could see all my Hollywood movies come to life in various forms.

Day 6: Transfer to Bali

We flew to Bali this day and were subsequently transferred to our hotel. The cab driver allotted to us was a good guide and could speak English too. He told us a lot of interesting things about the city and it was fun and entertaining to have him. The hotel that we checked into had a private villa for us and it was a luxurious experience.

Day 7: Benoa Beach – Water sports and dance activities

We were taken to the Benoa beach this day for water sports activities. The basic activities were included in the package, but special water sports activities like the Banana boat and Parasailing adventure had to be paid for.
Banana boat was a fun experience, but the highlight for us was the Parasailing Adventure, since it allowed my wife and I together to be up in the air together. It felt as if we were on top of the world.
We also did the Scuba Diving and it was a wonderful experience too!

Dancers performing the Kechak dance in Bali

At around 2 PM, we went to an Indian Restaurant that served us excellent food.

Later, we also visited the Uluwatu Temple which overlooked the Indian Ocean. It was an awesome sight and I was left awestruck by the beauty of it.

We also saw the Kecak dance – a traditional dance form in Bali with influences from Ramayana.

The agent had also arranged a candlelight dinner for us, but unfortunately, that was a bad experience since the food quality was not up to the mark. We had to ultimately go back to the Indian restaurant we had visited earlier for food.

However, we both took it quite optimistically and in the end, the laughter and optimism added another layer of friendship to our bond.

Day 8: Bali – Cruise Control

Activities on the Bounty Cruise

The next day, we were given a proper Balinese massage inside the Orchid Spa and it was a nice therapeutic experience for us.

Bounty cruise deck and activities

Our dinner was booked on the Bounty cruise and it was a heavenly experience to dine in the cool fresh air. The deck was also full of activities like traditional dances, magic shows, singing performances, and a lot many other things. It was a wonderful experience and we loved the festive feel of it.

Day 9 – Going back

Performances on the Bounty Cruise

This was our last day and after having our breakfast, we were dropped to the airport.

Our overall experience in the two countries was awesome except for a few hiccups that we overcame. I loved Singapore for its nature, ambience, and city life. It is a country that has a very modern feel to it. Bali, on the other hand, was a nature’s paradise that consisted of lush green scenic attractions and majestic views.

We witnessed the best of both worlds and the best of each other. It is a combo that is hard to come by, but I guess we were the lucky ones.

High Points – Singapore and its lifestyle, the cruise and the islands we visited, Our Hotel in Bali, Kechak Dance, Langkawi island, Benoa beach and water sports activities, Bounty Cruise and the spa at the Orchad.

Low Points – The hotel in Singapore was small and gave us twin beds, the room on the cruise trip was average, the candle light dinner was a bad experience.

Tips to future travelers – Be cautious while booking the hotel, romantic activities like candle light dinners should be planned with more care. Rest assured, both the countries will offer you an amazing experience when it comes to honeymoon and family trips.
