Celebrating his newly established bond with his wife Riti, Rohan Kumar booked his honeymoon package to Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi through TravelTriangle at a price of Rs.134,000. His package included their accommodation, local tours and transfers, entry fees/permits, multi-city airfare and Malaysia Visa. Having had the time of his life in Malaysia, here; he reminisces about the memories woven with his beautiful better half.
Honeymoon is once in a lifetime. My most important concern after the wedding was to select the most appropriate honeymoon destination. Out of a fear of getting bored at one place, I decided to include an island and one city for a complete Malaysian experience. We added the best places to visit in Kuala Lumpur for honeymoon and added my brother’s suggestions from his recent visit to these places. To make the experience hassle free, I booked my tour package through TravelTriangle, as suggested by a friend.
The experience with TravelTriangle turned out to be amazing as our honeymoon trip went extremely smooth, exceeding expectations. The travel agent from Traveling Street agency was in touch with me throughout the trip, offering me his assistance at every point. Even after getting back from the trip, he expressed his concern and that was highly appreciable. We are also sharing the details of our Malaysia honeymoon itinerary here:

Day 1: The takeoff
The journey was kicked off from the Delhi airport. We had a connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi and we landed at 9 am. At the airport, we were welcomed by a representative who dropped us at the Berjaya Langkawi Honeymoon Resort. We reached the resort at 10 am and requested for an early check-in since we were originally scheduled for a check in at 3 pm. With magnificent chalets and a widespread area – the property stood highly impressive amidst a spectacular location.
At the hotel, we took some time to settle down, eat and rest; since our journey had left us tired. Around 4 pm, we left for the SkyCab and Sky Bridge (just 1 km away from our resort), in the free shuttle provided by the resort. After an exciting cable car ride, we reached the top of Machincang Mountain, which featured a mesmerizing view of the sunset and the Langkawi islands. We could not visit the Sky Bridge since it is operational till 6 pm and we had gotten late.

As evening took over, we took to a restaurant at the Cenang beach and had our dinner. Although, we faced a little problem in accessing food for my vegetarian wife, I thoroughly enjoyed the non-veg dishes served at the restaurant. Wandering around the beach, we halted and shopped at some local shops before getting back to the hotel.

Day 2: For the love of Langkawi
The second day of our Malaysia honeymoon itinerary took us for a City tour. Our driver arrived right on time and greeted us well. He began the tour by taking us to The Underwater World — one of the most visited tourist spots for Langkawi honeymoon — where we got to witness marine life through the clear glasses of gigantic aquariums.
After a peep into aquatic life, we headed for sporting with the waters at Naam sports — a premier leisure and watersports company. We started with the experience of gliding together in the skies while parasailing and then went for a crazy ride on the Jet Ski. The sports were very well organized, utilizing the safe and latest maritime technology and equipment.
Relishing the fun we had with the water-sports, we proceeded for the Mangrove tour. On a private boat, I and my wife admired the beauty of the mangrove forest. As we cruised down the calm river on our private boat, we witnessed the wonders of nature and explored the Bat Cave, Fish Farm, Crocodile Cave, Eagle point and much more. We came back to the hotel around 9:30 and had our dinner there itself.

Day 3: Hopping on the island
As sun took over the day, we went for the Island Hopping tour. This sharing based tour took us around various islands, where we got to indulge in diverse activities ranging from fish pedicure to scuba diving and boating etc.
Some of the activities were free of cost while some were had to be paid for. The tour ended with a visit to Beras Basah Island which offered far-reaching views of the sea and wonderful soft white sands to relax.
I had heard from my brother about the Sunset dinner cruise in Langkawi. Since this was a day at leisure, I decided to go for the cruise. I called my driver who booked the cruise for me and reached there around 5 pm.
The setting sun in the company of soothing music, delicious snacks and unlimited drinks – the dinner cruise crafted the best memories for us throughout the trip. The most enjoyable activity to indulge in at the cruise was rejoicing in the natural Jacuzzi, created by dispersing a safety net in the ocean.
Day 4: Time for the next destination

Having spent 3 days in Langkawi, our honeymoon had reached an intermission. The rest of the journey was occupied with places to visit in Kuala Lumpur for honeymoon. We checked out from the resort at around 12 noon and boarded the flight from Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur.
At around 4 pm we reached Kuala Lumpur and checked in at our hotel The Renaissance. I had selected the hotel for its unparalleled location. Not only does it feature a spellbinding view of the Petronas Twin Towers, but is situated right in the heart of the city.
We started exploring Kuala Lumpur by exploring the area around the hotel. Our local recce lead us inside the twin towers, and inside the adjacent KLCC Suria mall. In the food court of the mall, we found Saravana Bhavan – much to our delight – and savored its signature South Indian cuisines, before retiring for the day.

Day 5: All the way to the Sunway Lagoon
After a good night’s sleep, we geared up for an action-packed visit to the Sunway lagoon. The theme park offers 5 specialized parks – Water Park, Amusement Park, Wildlife Park, Extreme Park and Scream Park.
From water rides to Go-Karting to interacting with the animals – the visit to the Sunway Lagoon brought the kids in us to life and gave us memories to cherish.
Day 6: The city of entertainment
The series of having exhilarating experiences witnessed another addition, when we visited the Genting Highland. Post an hour’s car ride, we traveled through a 3 km long cable car ride to reach this high-altitude hill in Malaysia. The rope-way took around 20 minutes and exposed beautiful landscapes.
We visited the Snow World, where we enjoyed artificial snow and the chilling atmosphere. Out from the Snow World, we saw a magic show, cultural programs, Batu temple and made the best of our time. We also visited the casinos and shopped around before getting back to our hotel.
Day 7: Retreating from a dream
On the last day of our honeymoon, we visited the KL Tower. Booking a ticket to go all the way up to the building, we witnessed first-hand, a panoramic view of the city. Casually roaming around Kuala Lumpur like a local, we then headed for some last minute shopping at the Chinatown market and indulged in some low-budget shopping at its busy stalls.
In the evening, we took to Bukit Bintang and explored the grand Berjaya mall. Keen on taking a peep into the nightlife of Malaysia, we slipped into a nightclub and had a great time. We made the last dinner of our honeymoon memorable by dining at Mumbai Plaza and had a fully relaxing sleep in Malaysia.
Day 8: Flying back to India
Booked for a flight back to India at 9 am, we checked out from the hotel early morning at 5:30.
Malaysia Weather In December
Malaysia remains dry, hot, and sunny during December and experiences awesome weather on the west coast including the capital city, Kaula Lumpur. East coast of Malaysia experiences heavy rainfall during this month. It is advisable to add the dry place to your itinerary. We ensured that our Malaysia honeymoon itinerary is planned according to the weather before beading for the vacation.
High Point
The best memory from my honeymoon in Kuala Lumpur would be the time spent with my wife at the Sunset Cruise. We also had a great time indulging in adventure activities like parasailing, go-karting, jet skiing etc.
Low Points
On the day of the city tour in Langkawi, we had to wait for the driver for 30 minutes because he had to pick other passengers too. But it was okay since it was a sharing based tour.
Tip for future travelers
Try and explore as many places as you can, instead of whiling away time at the hotel.
