Travel to me is about freedom. It is about being in sync with life and doing what I want. To connect with oneself is one of the primary reasons I love to travel and also because my job involves a lot of it too (this is the second). On our honeymoon, my husband and I wanted to visit a destination that had nature, peace, and a romantic vibe to it. For this, we narrowed down on two destinations namely Lakshadweep and Kerala and in the end selected Kerala since it was more scenic and we were gonna spend time at a forest resort (also Lakshadweep had a few additional formalities).

So we began searching for a suitable Kerala honeymoon package and fortunately stumbled upon TravelTriangle on Facebook. Later, after raising a request on their website, we got many quotes and itineraries from their agents on board and soon finalized on the best one.

Our honeymoon in Kerala started with us reaching Cochin and being picked up by the agent’s representative for sightseeing and subsequent transfer to the forest resort in Munnar.

Cochin was love at first sight and we had amazing time here doing sightseeing and visiting places like Cochin Museum. The boating experience at a lake there was equally rejuvenating and soon after we were done with it, we started our ride towards Munnar.

On our way to Munnar, we saw incredible scenery and also paid a visit to the famous Cheeyappara falls and a beautiful spice garden. We were totally in awe of the beauty here and soon realized why Kerala is known as “God’s Own Country”.

At around 8 pm, we reached the forest resort which was some 10 km away from Munnar and boy, it was love at first sight. The resort exceeded our expectations and we were totally in love with it. So far, our Kerala honeymoon trip was going perfect.

After we were done with our breakfast at the resort, we set out for sightseeing in Munnar. Our first stop was the Tea Garden Museum and it was quite a lovely experience. Full of trees and greenery, we loved our time spent here. Moreover, the route from our resort to this place was so scenic and good that the driver even allowed my husband to drive on it.

Post this, as per our Kerala honeymoon trip itinerary, we visited the Rose Garden, which had more than 100 variety of flowers and it was followed by the Mattupetty Dam. Next, we went on a jeep safari and loved the offroading adventurous experience. We visited many places on this safari and these included Ottakathalamedu Mountain Range, highest peak point, echo point and more.

In the morning, after we were done with our breakfast, we proceeded for our next stop Thekkady. At around 1pm, we checked into the hotel, which was once again awesome! Later, after we had relaxed, we went for a massage and it was one of the most relaxing experiences. Next up was a martial arts show followed by Kathakali show and both of them were truly amazing. I would recommend everyone to indulge in these experience if they book a Kerala honeymoon trip.

Day 4: Alleppey – An incredible houseboat stay

During this time, the boat stopped for one and half hours when we were served lunch. The food was delicious and once we were done, the boat resumed. At around 6 pm, the house boat was anchored we started soaking in the tranquil ambience of the place. This was one of the highlights of our trip since during this time we enjoyed our privacy and had an amazing candle light dinner. Alsi, we loved how everything was managed perfectly here, from cakes to decorations to food and drinks.

Day 5: Goodbye Kerala
