Beautiful? Ha ha.. this, guys, is the most haunted cemetery in India! The mortuary is filled with the graveyards of the Englishmen who died at early stages. The whispers of their sudden death surrounds the panorama. The jogi babas use the corpses in the graves for witchcraft. Don’t go alone here, ever!

2. Portuguese Cemetery, Kollam
The graveyards of the cemetery are designed in the Portuguese style. Best part- the photographs and initials of the dead are finely carved on every grave. The dead might just be looking right into your eyes here!

3. St John’s Cemetery, Kolkata

This is a colonial leftover made by the East India Company in early 80’s. A church is built in the periphery as a memorial to James Pattle and James Achilles. You are not allowed to step on anyone’s grave though there are long uncrushed grasses nearby.They say, there’s a noise that comes from the ground the moment anyone steps on the graves.

4. Roman Catholic Cemetery, Agra

This ‘Mini Taj Mahal’ defines the beauty of the burial ground with red stones throughout. The Armenian soldiers graves were designed with a mixture of eastern and western scripts. Beware—the fine buzz of their death can be heard in the air!

6. Delhi War Cemetery, Delhi

Did you know there is a lady in white saree and open hair that roams in the capital city? She stops everyone for help and asks for lift. And, if you do not let her enter your car, she runs with you at the speed of the vehicle! This, my friend, is a common phenomenon near the Delhi War Cemetery. Dare to visit? Do tell me about it!

7. Jafargunj Cemetery, Murshidabad

It is said that earlier there was a ‘kitchen garden’ at the site of the mortuary. But now, it is not the same. The cemetery houses the graves of the royal Nawabs of Bengal. It is a popular tourist spot but people don’t feel comfortable visiting this graveyard at night. Apparently, the wife of Nawab Nazim haunts the place searching for her loved ones at midnight. Feeling the chills?

8. Digboi War Cemetery, Assam

The cemetery is the cruel reminder of the effects of the war. The souls of the soldiers who lost their lives in Second World War braving the attack of the Japanese rest in this burial land. There is a myth about this place— people have often heard the ghosts of the dead plotting about killing the Japanese. Damn! the grudge of the dead!

9. Kirkee War Cemetery, Pune

The richest cantonments in the country have two memorials; one of which is Kirkee War Cemetery. The soldiers of World War I were buried in this cemetery. So, there is funny yet scary story about this graveyard. It is said that the Eastern and Western African did not allow Indians to bury their family members at the Sewri Memorial which was the only graveyard back then. So, the Indians made an even more beautiful a burial ground for their loved ones. Now, apparently the ghosts of the Kirkee graveyard picks a fight with Sewri ones every night because of their bias behaviour.

10. Dutch Cemetery, Kochi

The oldest cemetery of India which is beautiful but not to mention equally haunted. The epitaphs and tombs numbered 104 carry the records of the hundreds of the Dutch and British nationals. The cemetery remains closed most of the time because of the stories that hovers around about the Britishers taking revenge from the Indians!
