On the first day, we reached Kochi airport in the afternoon. Subin, our driver for the trip and our travel guide, greeted and received us at the airport. On our way, we visited few waterfalls post which, we reached the prebooked hotel of Bethel Varkis. It was a nice property and the views from the room were amazing as well. On that day, we relaxed post freshening up, basked in peaceful surroundings, and retired for the day after a great dinner.

Our second day was dedicated to exploring the lush surroundings of Munnar. As a part of the local sightseeing, we visited the famous Tea Factory, tea garden, and the exquisite Rose Garden in the first half. We In the second half, we witnessed a great Kathakali Show and it was enthralling to the core to have witnessed such a great form of art. Later in the night, we returned to the hotel and enjoyed our dinner wherein we were served delicious chicken curry that made our whole day!

We started a bit early in the morning of our third day for Thekkady. Post checking in at the Michael’s Inn, we went for a wild safari where we were provided an open jeep. Believe us, the adventurous safari was a life changing experience indeed. Later in the second half, we went shopping for a while and bought some of the famous spices and homemade chocolates from the local market.

On the fourth day, we started out in the morning a bit early for Alleppey. On our way, we visited a beautiful church and enjoyed quite a few photo breaks amidst the pine grove forests. Once we reached the respective port in Alleppey, we boarded our private houseboat which treated us to excellent facilities. We were treated to great views as we cruised through the exotic backwaters and spent the whole day amidst all the peace and quiet.

On the last day, we deboarded the houseboat in the late afternoon and were transferred from Alleppey to Kochi. As a last stop, we visited the bustling Jew Town in Kochi, bid adieu to this backwater paradise, and head towards the airport for a safe journey back home!
