Kerala adds another feather to its hat by announcing the state to be “differently-abled friendly” by 2022. This incredible tourism initiative taken by the state has made it worthy of the title “God’s Own Country”. As declared by the state tourism minister Kadamapally Surendran, the state has picked 120 tourist spots in the initial phase. And the best part is that the work and required installations are already done in 98 tourist spots for differently-abled while the work is still in progress on the other places. The main motive behind this initiative taken by the government is to make the tourist destinations in Kerala accessible for the different-able tourists. This announcement narrows the gap of the major barrier of tourism and will make the differently-abled tourists feel empowered and explore without any worries.

What Are The Facilities?

Under this initiative the state department has declared to install accessible ramps, special toilets, wheelchairs, walking stick, folding walkers, crutches, special signages, tactile walkways, touch screen kiosks, braille brochures and audio guides.
