For our honeymoon, both my husband and I wanted to travel to a destination which is a little offbeat. We knew that we did not want to go to Thailand or Bali. My husband wanted to go to Italy but it was a little out of our budget. While he was looking at the air tickets for Italy, one of the flights has a stop in Istanbul. He began to search about Turkey and voila Turkey had a lot of things of our interest. We got on our ninja modes and started to search for some good packages. We came across TravelTriangle and told them all about our requirements. Soon they reached back to us with various options in packages and we chose the one that fit us just right and soon started the journey to our 8 days in Turkey.

Places To Visit In Turkey That Added Joy To Our Trip
During our 8 days in Turkey, there were a lot of places that we visited during this trip to Turkey and all of them were beautiful and absolutely amazing.
While in Istanbul, we ticked off way too many important sites and beautiful destinations. We went to see the Blue Mosque which literally took our breath away with its grandness and sheer perfection. Next on the list was Hagia Sophia, which is another very popular tourist destination. We also went to see Topkapi Palace and Hippodrome. All these places are a must-see when in Istanbul.
When we planned a trip to Turkey there was one place that we were very sure to visit and that was Cappadocia. This one of a kind place took our breath away with its cone-shaped rock formations and the numerous hot-air balloons. It is a beautiful sight to witness and is pure magic. We also visited places like Pasabag Valley and Deverent Valley.
Pamukkale is another unique place which is wild-wide popular for the natural thermal pools. These rich in mineral water can be seen flowing down the white travertine terraces. Many people visit this place and we too decided to go and experience the magic of this place.
4. Underground City Of Kaymakli
There was no way we were going to miss visiting this place. This underground city of Kaymakli is an ancient site belonging to the 7th to 8th century B.C. Whether you are a history buff or not, visiting this place is a must for its unique character.
Hotels In Turkey
During our 8 days in Turkey, we stayed at some really good hotels and here’s how the stay went.
1. Eresin Hotel
This is a European style hotel and is very centrally located. There were several restaurants, Forex and mobile sim stores and general stores nearby. Metro was also at walkable distance. Our room was very comfortable and we really enjoyed staying here.
2. Crown Plaza In Antalya
This was a 5-star hotel that offered a gorgeous view of the sea! It had a swimming pool and massage sauna as well and of course, we made use of them.
3. Goreme Kaya Cave Hotel
Located in Cappadocia, this was also superb. Built-in natural caves, the tunnel-like passages, and wooden floors were captivating. The view from the hotel restaurant gave a feeling and sense of being one with nature. The small town a kilometer from the hotel was also very refreshing.
How To Reach Turkey
We took a flight from Delhi to Turkey. It was a comfortable flight and all we did during the flight was a dream about the coming 8 days in Turkey.
Our Budget For The Trip
Well, our budget was around 1 L as we did shop and did other activities. Depending upon the activities that are exclusive of the package and shopping one can save and spend a lot.
Shopping In Turkey
When it comes to shopping, Grand Bazaar is a good place to go to and you’ll get good spices. We bought some souvenirs – make-up mirrors and ‘Nazar na lage’ keychains. Stoles were also pretty good here. Also, do try their special-shaped çhai cup set and their Apple and pomegranate tea.
Restaurants In Turkey
On our first night in Istanbul, we had çhorba soup in a nearby local restaurant and instantly fell in love with the taste. All our other food experience was good as well. We even had food and a beer ordered at our recliner on the beach in Antalya for us!! How cool is that?! Turkey food really made us fall in love with it.
