It was a 3.5 hours ride to Thekkady via the cardamom hills and it was beautiful. After reaching the city, we checked into our hotel and then proceeded to the Periyar Tiger Reserve. We opted for a two hour boat ride here amidst the forest and it was one of the most refreshing experiences ever.

Day 4: The backwaters of Alleppey

Day 5: Cherai beach and back to Cochin
This was the last day of our honeymoon trip to Kerala and after breakfast, we proceeded towards the Cherai beach. This beach is by far the best picnic spot near Chennai and we loved our time spent here at the sandy beach. The best part here was this place is surrounded by both backwaters and beach – so no matter what, fun and peace is guaranteed here. One can swim in the sea, sunbathe, or enjoy the colorful sunset and sunrise.
