I believe traveling and taking a holiday is one thing that makes all of us excited and happy. And since 2017 had a lot to offer with its long weekends, we wanted to make the most of it too.
Both my wife and I wanted to explore South India and while I was looking for places we could visit, the flights, hotels, and more, my wife mentioned about her friend who had recently come back from her honeymoon in Kerala.
Like every curious couple, it got us to checking their pictures on social media, which made us call her to understand about her trip plan. She mentioned one name and that was TravelTriangle. It was new to us so I immediately checked up the website and I must say I was impressed in no time. The fact that they allow travelers to customize their holiday and choose between different quotes as per one’s budget totally won me over! I booked our trip with them, and was again amazed with their smooth booking process where they included all the places to visit on a romantic Kerala trip and the must-have experiences for that we were looking for.

We landed in Kerala on a Friday around 1.30 in the afternoon from where a driver picked us up in an A/C Maruti Indica and we left for Munnar. It was a beautiful road journey. The scenic views along the way, including a few breathtaking waterfalls had left the two of us in awe.
As the driver was very familiar with the route, it didn’t take us too much time to reach the destination. By 4, we were there standing and admiring Munnar like it was a dream! Our hotel -‘The Munnar Queen’ was situated right in the heart of the hills and it looked as gorgeous as was described to us. Honestly, it is one of the best places to stay in Munnar. Ours was a valley facing room with the best of service and food. We took the day off for relaxing, and enjoying the view from our balcony.

As we left, he guided us towards the best spots and attractions on the way. Apart from the surreal tea gardens, we also visited places like the Elephant Garden, Rose Garden, Dam, Tea Factory Museum. Each of these places were mesmerizing in their own way and we couldn’t help but gaze at them and capture a few memories there.
Later in the evening, we went for an authentic Kerala massage and then took the day off.
Day 3 – Houseboat stay in Alleppey
This day was the time when we had to bid farewell to the serene hills of Munnar and leave for Alleppey. On our way to the backwaters’ town, we visited the Spice Garden on the way to buy some authentic Kerala herbs.
By 2 in the afternoon, we had finally reached our houseboat where we were welcomed with a drink. The boat then left from the dock, and immediately after which the cook had served lip-smacking lunch for us.

We savored it in no time as both of us were too excited for witnessing the scenic views from the houseboat, and for taking pictures. The houseboat driver was courteous enough to offer us his seat to get a feel of maneuvering a boat.
While cruising, we also bought some fresh fish from the market. By sunset, we had reached the stoppage point where the boat was to hold up till next morning. While the boat was at rest, we took the backseat as well, relaxed, and soaked up the peace from the balcony roof with some tea.
At night, the cook had made fish for us for dinner and it turned out to be the most memorable feast of the trip. After enjoying the view of the stars for long hours, we finally called it a night.
Day 4 – Bidding farewell to Kerala

On the last day of our trip, the houseboat dropped us back at the boarding point in the morning where our driver was waiting for us to drop us at the airport. On the way, we visited the Lulu Mall to shop for some souvenirs and have the last scrumptious lunch in Kerala. Our trip had finally come to an end, and it wasn’t a happy feeling to bid farewell to this beauty in South India.
