A little charming adventure unfolds set in the oriental paradise of Thailand. Read the thrilling account of Alok on his family trip to Thailand traveling, partying, savoring the eccentric flavors of Thailand. Their trip cost them a total of INR 30,400 which included their accommodation, transfers, sightseeing, and breakfast.
Having traveled with TravelTriangle earlier to Kerala, we were eager to consult them again for a vacation. The moment my daughter suggested Thailand as a possible vacation, we knew who to connect with.
I put in an inquiry and soon enough, was contacted by a representative from the same. I could choose a package from different agents depending on what price and itinerary I liked and after getting quotes from several travel agencies – I selected ‘Sumuk International Travels’ as our travel agency and guide.

We started our journey from Chennai early in the day and reached Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok. Upon our arrival, the cab was waiting for us at the airport. After completing all formalities we came out of the airport, boarded the car and got dropped at Hotel Beverly
Plaza at Pattaya.
We took rest for a few hours and then left for sightseeing in Pattaya. We covered local places like Big Buddha, Floating Market, Pattaya Beach and finally the famous Walking Street. The local sight seeing was not included in our package with Travel Triangle (which we feel could have been included because it costed us only 400 Baht), but we made our own arrangements.
In the evening, post dinner, we were taken to Alcazar show at 8 pm by a private vehicle. The glitz and glamour of the show bedazzled the wide diaspora of audience present at the show. That surely made it a must see event in Pattaya. After the show got over, we got dropped at hotel and we rested for the night.
Day 2: Gem of an Island
After having breakfast we left for Coral Island Tour at around 9am. On the way to Coral Island we did adventure activities like para-sailing and under sea walking. My family and I were initially scared of the parachute take-off. But all of the anxiety turned into excitement with a blink of an eye as I soared into the sky.
It was a memorable experience to visit the Coral Island. It is blessed with an excellent beach, clear water, and a vibrant tourist. We came back to Pattaya by 3 pm, had lunch and were dropped at the hotel. The overall arrangement was very good and efficient.
Since we had enough time in the 2nd half of the day, we made, on our own, a plan to visit Nong Nooch Village (Not included in package). It was an amazing experience. In the evening we did plenty of shopping and enjoyed the famous Thai massage. Afterwards, we returned to the hotel and called it a night.
Day 3: Temple run in Bangkok
The next morning, after breakfast, we checked out of the hotel and left for Bangkok. Our private car was ready and we were dropped at the Hotel Manhattan at around 3 PM after visiting Golden temple and Gems gallery in Bangkok. The intricate details and craftwork done on the temples reminded me of India and the temples we had all seen back home.
The driver didn’t take us to the other temple citing a road block due to King’s death. It was unfortunate to see the entire country go into mourning because of the royal family member’s death. In the evening, we went to Indra Market for souvenir shopping. After our shopping spree, we had dinner at a local thai restaurant and proceeded back to the hotel for the night.
Day 4: Cruising in Bangkok

Our final day began with a quick breakfast. At 10 am, the cab driver was present at the hotel to take us for boat riding on river Chao Phraya. On the river cruise, we treated ourselves to fine oriental cuisine in a scenic cruise that cuts through the heart of Thailand. Next up, we visited the famous Wat Pho (reclining buddha) temple.
Our tour ended in the evening with a visit to the weekend market. It was traditional street shopping you would associate an Asian country with. After exploring the weekend market, we went back to the hotel for the night.
Day 5: Adios Thailand
The next morning, we checked out of the hotel as our adventures in Thailand were about to come to an end. We were driven to the airport at 7 am, after which we boarded our flight back to Chennai.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our adventures in Thailand as we witnessed the diverse culture in Thailand. I found it surprising how Thailand exceeded tourist expectations in terms of spirituality, entertainment, and natural beauty.
High Points:
- Coral Island tour was the highlight of our trip
Low Points:
- The unfortunate demise of the King of Thailand meant that we couldn’t visit half of the places in Bangkok.
Tips To Travelers:
- They should definitely use the option of customizing the itinerary.
