5. Star Fort

Yet another place to come closer to the city’s glorious past, Star Fort, is a pretty structure. It is built in the form of a star. The Dutch emperors built it to save the city from attacks by the enemy. You can click nice pictures at the fort. The fort is composed of 6 points, forming a star which has a point facing every direction. Each point is bolstered with two large canons. Still protected from all sides by a deep moat, the Star Fort houses a well in the centre that offers water within the territories.
