The Keppel Bay Bridge is also known as Jambatan Teluk Keppel in Malay. This one is the longest bridge in Singapore and it spans a distance of 250 meters across the strait. It links the private Keppel Island with Singapore’s mainland through a spine road called the Keppel Bay Drive. This road leads out to Telok Blangah Road and the East Coast Park Expressway. This bridge was opened to the public on 3 January 2008. The inauguration of the bridge was done by SR Nathan, who was the 6th President of Singapore. The Keppel Bay Bridge is used by motorcyclists and pedestrians to cross the Keppel Bay, in HarbourFront, Bukit Merah, Singapore. The bridge’s maintenance is taken care of by Land Transport Authority.

The design work of the Keppel Bay Bridge is a combined effort of DCA Architects Pte. Ltd. and TY Lin International Pte. Ltd. and constructed by Penta Ocean Construction Co. Ltd. This was the first bridge that was built by a private developer and would be handed over to Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. Construction of the Keppel Bay Bridge costed S$30 million. Keppel Bay Bridge is a part of the 32-hectare waterfront living precinct of Keppel Bay. To reinforce it, there are 7 asymmetrical cables rising 50 m above the sea that is attached to a pylon. The bridge is decorated with stunning LED lights by United Kingdom’s top lighting companies, DPA. This lighting system is programmable and can be adjusted to compliment a specific festival or event organized in Keppel Bay. The Central Business Centre of Singapore is located at a distance of just 5 minutes drive from the bridge. The Keppel Bay Bridge also links the public promenade that is built on both the sides of the Keppel Bay’s shoreline. The plan is to link this bridge to the nearby Harbour Front developments located on the East and Labrador Park located on the west. The whole site looks absolutely stunning with the Resorts World at Sentosa on one side and the residences of Reflections and the Caribbean on the other side.

This 274 meters long pedestrian bridge and is the link between Mount Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park. Henderson Waves bridge is Singapore’s highest pedestrian bridge with a height of 36-meter.
