Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) is a museum located in the city of Dallas dedicated majorly to the genre of Arts. Having been established in 1903, the museum has amassed a collection of over 25000 artifacts and exhibits from a period spanning about 5000 years.Located in the biggest art district of the country and one of the 10 biggest Museums in the USA, this museum is a cultural and historical storehouse. Since it started hosting free general admission in 2013, the museum has been visited by over 3 million people.

The museum can be reached by any of the three modes of transportation.
By Air: You can reach the Museum from the Dallas International Airport which is just a short drive from the Museum
By Metro: You can also reach the Museum by using the Dallas Area Rapid Transit System. De-board the train at St Paul station and walk to the Museum which right beside the station.
By Road: You can reach the Museum via road from any location by using the well-connected network of roads and highways.

Best Time To Visit DMA
There is no such thing as the best time to visit the museum, it is open all year round for the visitors except on Christmas and New Year Holidays plus third Friday of every month when maintenance takes place in the Museum. It is advised you check the website and social media accounts of the Museum and visit when some exhibitions and workshops are going on, at that time the Museum has a very sociable ambiance and environment.
You can visit the Museum at any time between 11 AM and 5 PM. There are not many people inside so any time is a suitable time for a visit. Also, the admission to the Museum is free of cost while special workshops and exhibitions cost money to participate in.

The Art Collection Of DMA
1. African Collection
The African collection of the Museum comes from the regions of Central and Western Africa. Although most of the artifacts date from somewhere between 16th and 20th century, the oldest item in the collection is a Nok terracotta bust which came from Nigeria and dates back between 200 AD and 200 BC.

2. American Collection
The American collection includes pieces of artwork from the colonial period to World War II from all across the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Some of the highlights of this collection include Duck Island by Childe Hassam, The Gentleman by Andrew Wyeth, Razor, and Watch by Gerald Murphy and many more from other prominent artists.
3. The ancient Mediterranean
The Ancient Mediterranean collection is perhaps one of the most amazing collections of the Museum. This collection includes artifacts from Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Cycladic, Etruscan and Apulian era, including a figure of a man from a Funerary Relief from 300 BCE and an artifact named Figure of a Woman from 2nd Century AD from the Ancient Roman Period.
4. Asian Collection

The collection of the Asian Artefacts is majorly dominated by the artifacts from South Asia. The collection ranges from Gandharan Buddhist artifacts and artwork of 2nd to 4th century AD to the Mughal Artefacts of 15th to 19th Century.
