Moir Point is 10 km from the Kodaikanal Bus Stand and is on the way to another famous sightseeing lake, Berijam Lake. It got its name after Sir Thomas Moir started constructing the Goschen Road in 1929 CE.
It was at this point that Sir Thomas Moir cut the first grass to build the Goschen Road connecting the Poombarai and Kukkal villages of Kodaikanal. Until 1929, this point was known as Fore Mile Road, and a monument was erected just on the road that joined Kodai and Berijam Lake, which signifies the Point.
