With the right kind of weather, spectacular view of the hills, exquisite culture, and beautiful backwaters, Kerala had the perfect flavors for the kind of trip we were looking for. So, we knew where we had to head for our honeymoon. The dream only became a better experience when we booked our honeymoon trip to Kerala with Travel Triangle.
I got to know about Travel Triangle through a friend who had earlier had a great experience, and he only recommended me to book our trip from there. They got me in touch with Rocking Trips travel agency, which was a great help. Initially, the package that we got was for a 5 days trip to Kerala, but since we wanted to explore a few other places as well, they customized it accordingly and offered us a 7 Days and 6 Nights Honeymoon Trip. Even the quote for the trip was pretty decent and fitted my pocket well as compared to other travel agencies and their packages.

We took an early morning flight at 6:30 AM from our hometown Delhi so that we could also make the most of the first day of our honeymoon trip to Kerala. As soon as we reached the Cochin Airport, our driver was waiting there to receive us. Thanks to TravelTriangle for providing us with all his details, we could easily identify him and began our journey from Cochin to Munnar without any hassle. On our way to Munnar, we stopped by to explore the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls. After a brief halt here, we visited the Spice Garden, where we enjoyed an elephant ride for a good half an hour. Visiting the garden was a completely refreshing experience for us.

We reached our resort – Seven Springs Plantation Resort in Munnar, which is some 15kms away from the city. While the resort was pretty decent for a 3-star accommodation and so were the rooms and its hospitality, we felt it was a little too far from the city.

After that, we stopped at the Echo Point on our way, and clicked some amazing pictures of the tea plantations and of course ourselves. Our next stop was the Rose Garden, which was again a completely new experience. It was a paradise and a haven of beauty.

All in all, it was a great experience and we realized that visiting here is actually one of the most amazing things to do in Kerala. We then came back to our hotel and called it a day.

Day 5: A stay at Kovalam’s Beachside Resort
On the fifth day, we drove to our next stop, which was Kovalam. It was a good 4.5 hours of drive, so we reached our resort in the afternoon. Samudratheeram Beach Resort is a great place to stay if you’re planning a honeymoon trip to Kerala. Being situated on a beach, it creates a perfectly romantic aura to enjoy for you and your better half.
We relaxed for a while in our room and then headed out to visit the beaches. At the first beach, we stopped by to enjoy a boat ride. After that, we visited another beach and then headed back to relax in our resort. We began our next morning again with a visit to the beach. It was worth soaking up the sun there and taking a leisure walk together. All in all, the resort was amazing and so was our stay here.

We headed to Kanyakumari on the sixth day after checking out of our resort, and it was around a three hour journey from Kovalam. We stopped in between for a boat ride and it was a great experience. We could see the ocean, sea, and bay meeting at one place. While the ride seemed a little expensive to us, the view from it was a treat for the eyes.

We then headed to our final destination, Hotel Gopi Niwas. While it was a great place to stay, the only downside was that we couldn’t get an ocean view room as everything was booked already. But despite that, our room was decent enough for an overnight stay.
In the evening, we visited the sunset point, and then explored the market. The next morning, after having a hearty breakfast, we visited a Tamil memorial – Vivekananda Rock Memorial. It was something we had always read about, so visiting here was a very different experience. We then came back to our hotel, packed our bags, and were ready to check out and leave.
Day 7: Bidding bye to Kerala
On our way to Trivandrum Airport, we stopped at the Vishnu temple, but couldn’t visit since it was supposed to open a few hours later, which was just an hour before our flight’s take off time. So, we did our prayers from the outside and proceeded to the airport.
Overall, our honeymoon trip to Kerala was a memorable and an unforgettable experience. Despite the language barrier, interacting with the hotel staff and the locals was convenient and fun. We visited some really good places and did great things which made it even more amazing.
High Point Of Our Trip: The highlight of the trip was our stay in Munnar, and the plantations and the garden that we visited. Right from our drive from the airport to Munnar, we were mesmerized with the beauty around us.
Few Tips For Future Travelers:
- Kerala is a beautiful place down south to get closer to nature and spend quality time with your better half on your honeymoon. Try to plan at least a week long trip if not more than that.
- When in Munnar, try booking a hotel that’s near the city, unless you’re looking for a secluded romantic retreat.
- Book your trip and hotels well in advance as a little delay might make you miss out on your dream view room.
- Do check the weather before you pack your bags and plan your honeymoon trip to Kerala.
Our honeymoon trip to Kerala was as amazing as our experience with Travel Triangle. From planning our honeymoon trip to Kerala to experiencing it, everything was smooth and convenient. It was a complete value for money experience!
