Fascinated with the emerald beauty of Andaman and the romantic charm it exhibits, Tarun Singh chose the island as his ideal honeymoon destination. He booked a 5D/4N honeymoon package with TravelTriangle for Rs.28,500, which included the accommodation, local transfers and adventure activities for the couple. Having had the time of his life, look out for what he has to say.

After soaking in the wedding revelries, it was time to take my bride on that precious retreat that all the newly-weds wait for — a heart stirring soulful honeymoon. Having heard a lot about Andaman from friends, and after taking a peep into its extravagant beauty through the internet — I started my search for the best Andaman honeymoon package. Surfing the net yielded the solution and I fixed the deal with TravelTriangle, who took care of all the arrangements.

Day 1: Getting comfy in Andaman

Arriving at Port Blair

We landed at the Andaman airport at 8 in the morning and were transferred to Hotel Kavitha Regent. The hotel, located in the heart of Port Blair – provided us a comfortable stay, a clean room, and impeccable service. We started traversing the Andaman tourist places by first visiting Water Sports Complex, from where we took off for Ross Island after having lunch.

Ferry at Ross Island

The ferry lead us to Ross Island with deep blue water, creamy sand and fluorescent bright sky – the typically Andaman features. The place was secluded and peaceful, without any trace of a shop.

Spending time at Roass Island in Andaman

Considering the fact that it took an hour for us to reach Ross Island, we wished we could have gotten more time to explore the place. In the evening, we returned to the hotel and spent quality time around the beach.

Day 2: Delving in the deep

Journey on the Makruzz

Early in the morning, we left for the Havelock Island by a private ferry – Makruzz, and landed on the snow-white sand of the island at 11:30 am. The ferry offered a comfortable ride, in-house service and consumed less time than the local ferry.

On reaching, we checked in at the Holiday Inn and straightaway went for scuba diving at the Havelock Island beach. The underwater marine experience was the stuff that fantasies are made of and we enjoyed it to the core.

swimming at Radhanagar Beach

After having lunch at the hotel, we were taken to the Radhanagar Beach – rated as the ‘Best Beach in Asia’ by Time Magazine. Here, we chilled around the beach and spent the rest of the time swimming in the turquoise blue water. Since we were well informed about the activities to be done at the beach, we were carrying our swimming costumes and other toiletries. Even for those who went unprepared, adequate arrangements were accessible at the island.

Roaming around the beach in Andaman

We got back to the Holiday Inn Beach Resort in the evening at 5:30. Though the location was simply awesome, the rooms were a little congested and the interiors and service were not comparable to what we were offered at Port Blair. As night approached, we paid a visit to the nearby bar and spent the rest of the time romancing the beach adjacent to the hotel.

Day 3: The Andamani dose of adventure

on the way to the Elephant beach

The next day at the Elephant beach, we embarked on a truly adventurous journey — as this was the day when we got to experience various adventure water sports. The beach’s calm blue shallow waters provided the perfect opportunity to indulge in Banana Ride, Jet Skii, Glass bottom boat and Snorkeling in Andaman. The place had beautiful coral reefs and was an ideal place to lay back and relax too.

The first part of the day made up the best and the most memorable part of our trip. Tired, we then got back to the hotel at 2 pm and had our lunch. Although the spices of Andaman’s food did not fully satisfy our North-Indian taste buds, but was decent, considering the availability of resources at the island. After the much needed rest, we hired a scooty and explored the place like a local, having a lot of fun.

Day 4: Cruising through the azure seas

Back to Port Blair

From Havelock Island, we returned to Port Blair in the morning through a local ferry. The journey proved tiring and I thought, it would have been worth to spend more money on the Makruzz even while returning from the island.

Selfie at the beach in Andaman

We reached Port Blair in the afternoon, and checked back in the Hotel Kavita Regent. In the evening, we were taken to Chidiya Tapu — 30 km away from the hotel. At Chidiya Tapu, we witnessed the shades of setting sun — which the place is famous for. On our way back to the hotel, we visited the Cellular Jail, where we enjoyed the mesmerizing sound and light show.

High Point: The visit to the Elephant beach was a perfect package of fun, adventure and romance.

Low Point: Going to Chidiya Tapu got very hectic for us, since we were exhausted and did not find the place worth all the traveling.
