Chiang Mai in Thailand, also known as the “rose of the north” hosts a 3-day long flower festival called the Chiang Mai Flower festival. The flower festival takes place on the first weekend of February and paints the town in vibrant hues of chrysanthemums and the Damask Rose. The festival is held at the Suan Buak Haad city park where the entire place comes alive with colorful flowers. There are miniature trees, local orchids, and vendors who put up their stalls in the park.

Highlights Of The Festival
The main event of the festival is the flower parade that takes place in Chiang Mai. There is a beautiful exhibition of floral arrangements and landscaping patterns on the first day of this weekend festival. A beautiful blend of the ancient and modern floral art is displayed which epitomizes the traditions of the Lanna Kingdom. The history of Chiang Mai flower festival draws crowds from all over the world.
The main highlight of the event, the flower parade takes place on Saturday and begins from the Nawarat bridge to the Nong Buak Haad Public Park. There are marching bands, local musicians, dancers and school groups performing in the parade. There are large floats all decorated with beautiful flowers and there’s a competition too, announcing the best float. Towards the end of the festival, the Chiang Mai Flower Festival Queen is chosen too.
On Sunday, one can enjoy the musical performances during the evening at the Thapae Gate.
