The story of this temple began with a woman with a golden heart. Her name was Leelavathy Ramanathan. Though she was European by origin, she embraced Hinduism with love and dedication. Initially, the temple was named Sri Kurinji Easware Temple. After his husband’s demise, she married a Tamilian named Ramanatha again, and she was called Lady Ramanathan.
