The prayer hall at Sheikh Zayed Mosque features the world’s largest loomed carpet. The carpet is crafted from Iranian cotton and New Zealand wool and has beautiful Islamic and Iranian art motifs. This magnificent carpet took 1200 weavers and almost one and a half year to be completed. It weighs around 35 tonnes and measures around 60,570 sq feet.

The Gleaming Crystal Chandelier
Under the main dome of the mosque hangs the world’s largest chandelier which is 15 metres high. It weighs around 12 tonnes and is spectacular in its appearance. This 24 carat gold-plated structure is made up of one million Swarovski crystals from Austria.

How To Reach Sheikh Zayed Mosque
Located in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Mosque can be easily visited from Dubai.
By Road: One can catch a bus from the Bur Dubai bus station or hire a private taxi to reach the Sheikh Zayed Mosque from Dubai. It takes roughly 90 minutes one side.
Sheikh Zayed Mosque Timings
The mosque is open to visitors everyday. Sheikh Zayed Mosque visiting timings are as follows:
- Saturday – Thursday: 9 AM – 10 PM
- Friday: 4-30 PM – 10 PM
The last entry inside the mosque is at 9-30 PM.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque Dress Code

The visitors are requested to dress up modestly. The men have to wear full length trousers and shirts and the women are required to wear Hijab and Abaya. Hijab and Abaya are available at the mosque free of cost.
