What is the first thing that comes to mind as soon as you hear the name ‘Thailand’? A country synonymous with vibrant nightlife, beautiful temples, gorgeous beaches, distinct markets and an exciting wildlife is what you think of, we know and on first thoughts one might not consider it to be a place that you can visit with your family. But we will tell you what? It’s just a myth or a conventionalized idea and that is what we looked at when we decided to take a trip to Thailand from Delhi. We wanted to break the age old stereotype once and for all and we proudly say we did!

A country which is famous for bachelor parties, nightlife, beaches and massages, Thailand is a destination which is preferred mostly by young men and we were well aware of that. However, both me and my daughter are beach lovers and wanted to visit Thailand for the longest time now and this time, we did. Be it the beaches of Thailand or the food or the shopping experience or anything else, everything was exclusive and we say everyone should do Thailand at least once in their lifetime.

Thailand Weather In September

It’s common knowledge that Thailand is all about beaches and has tropical weather around the year. September is one of the rainy months and our research before we planned our trip had told us that. Sunshine and rains are two words that describe the weather we encountered during our trip to Thailand. However, the rain was bearable and never played a spoilsport with our plans making our trip a happy experience.

Experiences From Trip To Thailand From Delhi

We were two people who wanted to explore a country to the fullest and get the best of it all and we did. We visited the famous places and the offbeat ones. We also tried our hands at the activities that are popular in the country.

1. Simon Cabaret Show

Watched the Simon Cabaret Show

One of the experiences that no one should miss out on when in Thailand is to watch the Simon Cabaret Show. The show is as amazing as it gets and a glamorous affair. We enjoyed it throughout and it won’t be wrong to say that it was one of the trip highlights. The musical theme and the comedy and the visual spectacle made it worth it.

Next on the list of our experiences of our trip to Thailand from Delhi was a city tour of Phuket that we took and the highlight of the day was a visit to Cashew nuts (Kaju) factory. We were shown how Kaju is extracted and then refined and processed and we got to taste many different flavours of Kaju.

4. Ferry Ride to Krabi

The next best thing that we did on our trip to Thailand from Delhi was taking a ferry ride to Krabi and spending the evening at Ao Bang Beach was such an amazing experience. We had a lot of fun here and even tried some exciting water activities. We both absolutely loved Krabi and would love to visit again.

Bangkok! The two F words- ‘Food and fun’, what were you thinking? Sum up the city pretty well! We had a lot of it in Bangkok. We watched the Siam Niramit show which is something not to be missed by anyone and also has a Guinness World Record for the great performances. We even shopped and tried other interesting things.

7. Safari World & Marine Park

Last but not least, we visited the Safari World & Marine Park and we have to say the experience was truly wonderful! We saw various performances by animals which was unique. The best one was the Dolphin show. We absolutely loved it!

Our Hotels In Thailand

We stayed at three different hotels on our trip to Thailand and each one of them were great. We liked the properties and the overall ambience was good.

In Phuket we stayed at the Ashlee Plaza which was a very nice hotel with neat and clean good rooms and great food, we just felt that it would have been better if the menu had more vegetarian dishes. In Krabi we stayed at Ibis Style which was an amazing property. The food variety they offered was massive and there were good vegetarian dishes too. The room service was great too. In Bangkok we stayed at Woraburi Sukhumvit which was a good hotel but the rooms were small yet the room service was great.

Shopping In Thailand

We had an amazing shopping experience on our trip to Thailand from Delhi. We felt Phuket and Krabi were better destinations for beaches but when it came to shopping, nothing can beat Bangkok.
