Here’s a sweet memoir of the adventurous things we did on our 7 day trip to Vietnam, which made it a fun-filled vacation and a journey we will remember forever.
Day 1: Exploring the streets of Hanoi
Upon reaching the land of beaches, rivers, and bustling cities, we checked into the Annam Legend Hotel in Hanoi. It started as a relaxing day, but soon after we headed out, it became an adventure on its own.
All the streets looked the same, and were quite confusing. Nevertheless, all four of us had a fun time visiting the rural areas nearby and witnessing the local culture of the country.
Day 2: A tour of Ho Chi Minh complex, temples, and museums
While taking a city tour might sound too touristy or boring to some of us, there’s no denying that it is a fun thing to do when we are with our best buddies. Every moment becomes a memory, and our experience was no different.
On day two of our adventure trip to Vietnam, we headed out for a city tour. From exploring the complex of Ho Chi Minh to visiting the Ethnology Museum and the famous Literature Temple, Ngoc Son Temple, and more, all of us saw pretty much of what makes Vietnam the beauty it is.
It was truly an enriching experience, filled with cultural and historical tales of Vietnam. In between all of this, we also stopped by for a scrumptious lunch, and I must say it was literally ‘finger licking good’!
Day 3: Thrilling cruise journey to Ha Long Bay, island hopping & visiting the Sung Sot Cave
Of all the top things to do on an adventure trip to Vietnam with friends , the most thrilling was cruising in Ha Long Bay. We knew that the real adventure had begun when we boarded the V’Spirit Classic Cruise and left for Ha Long.
We were welcomed with a delectable lunch on board with gorgeous views around. No meal had never been so fascinating for our souls. And even though I was the only vegetarian amongst all four of us, my taste buds danced equally with joy!
Meanwhile, we stopped by at the beautiful Sung Sot Cave, and it was a one-of-its-kind exploration. We had never seen such appealing caves before. They seemed like a mystery and we wanted to unravel every bit of it!
Before the day ended, we also hopped on to Titov Island, and relaxed near the beach there. The evening ended on an unforgettable note, with gorgeous sunset in the backdrop and my loved ones around.
Day 4: Kayaking to the unexplored parts of Ha Long Bay
The morning on the cruise was beautiful, calm, and soul-satisfying. What made our day better was the fun-filled experience of kayaking, which I had never done before.
We went to the hidden areas such as Bo Nau and others, and there is no denying that kayaking is one of the best things to do on an adventure trip to Vietnam with friends.
On our way back to Hanoi, we also took some cooking classes and watched the fruit carving demonstration. Post that, we took a flight to Ho Chi Minh city and got ready to experience the other adventures Vietnam had in store for us!
Day 5: Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels In Ho Chi Minh
The fifth day of our trip began by visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, the Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum. It was a great tour, and felt like we had seen more of Vietnam already. But, the travel lover within us wasn’t satisfied yet!
The highlight of this day was our visit to the Cu Chi tunnels, which are now a popular tourist spot in the country. And so, exploring these dark tunnels was a unique and thrilling experience, something one cannot experience anywhere else in the world.
We ended the day with some drinks and cassava, which gave us a feel of the local lifestyle.
Day 6: En route My Tho, cruising on a hand-rowed sampan & visiting Tortoise Island
The second last day of our trip was filled with little adventures too. We headed to My Tho in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam, where we started the day by visiting the Vinh Trang Temple.
After which, we took a boat ride, witnessed the fruit plantations and fishing villages on our way to the Tortoise Island. Spending time here with the wildlife had its own joy! We also captured a few moments here before we left for another adventure.
We headed to Ben Tre, a lesser known place, and cruised in a hand-rowed sampan under the shadow of the water coconut trees. The views around us were surreal and it is undoubtedly one experience that added on to our memorable time in Vietnam.
Well this wasn’t it, visiting a family that reflected the rural lifestyle, tasting coconut candies, and observing the locals made our holiday and aim of traveling absolutely complete.
Day 7: Bidding adieu to Vietnam
Every holiday comes to an end, and so did ours. While we were sad that our adventure trip was ending, the feeling of reaching the airport late and almost missing our flight compensated for it.
Like I said, when we have the best companions along, every moment becomes a joyful memory!
Shopping in Vietnam
If there is one thing that was common during all the days of our trip, it was shopping on the streets of Vietnam. It is an extremely great and cheap place to shop one’s heart out. The scope of bargaining is limitless and you will love it if you’re a Shopaholic too. We bought bags, shoes, and a ton of souvenirs to bring back home.
High Points Of Our Trip
- Cruising in Ha Long Bay is undoubtedly the best and the most wow moment of our trip.
- Exploring the caves of Sung Sot was an experience that made our trip even better.
- Visiting the dark Cu Chi Tunnels is the most unforgettable experience of our whole trip.
Low Points Of Our Trip
- There were no low points as such. We explored a lot and indulged in adventurous experiences we might have never been able to had we visited some other place than Vietnam.
Tips For Future Travelers
- Prefer staying in a hotel that is located in the centre of the city, so that visiting every other place around becomes easy.
- Check the weather once before planning your trip.
- Pack your clothes and travel gear accordingly.
- Don’t forget to bargain if you’re shopping on the streets of Vietnam.
- Make sure you get Cu Chi Tunnels added to your trip itinerary.
