Day 1: Arriving in Cochin
We began our trip to Kerala on the day of our anniversary. We arrived via flight to Cochin early in the morning. From the Cochin airport, our cab directly took us onwards to Munnar. On our way way to Munnar, at my personal request, we stopped by at a private farm to do some elephant riding.
We arrived in Munnar around lunch time and proceeded to check into the Green Trees Resort in Munnar. The unique thing about our resort was that the rooms were built in treehouses. A resort designed to bring its visitors closer to mother nature. Just what we wanted after a few hectic months of work.
Things To Do In Kerala For A Perfect Family Trip
After resting for awhile, we got ready for a beautiful Kathakali show in the evening. An entertaining show in the community center of Munnar that showed the rich history of Kerala.
Highlights of the day:
- Living in a treehouse in Munnar.
- Elephant ride in Kerala.
- The Kathakali performance in Munnar was thoroughly entertaining
Day 2: Sightseeing in Munnar
We began the morning with a hearty breakfast, and moved out for a day of sightseeing in Munnar. The day was misty and it had a very refreshing feel to it. We began the day by visiting a tea estate followed by the tea factory adjacent to it. Walking into a tea plantation for the first time in my life felt completely out of this world.
Sometimes I felt like I ran out words when talking to my wife about how beautiful Munnar is. The serenity of that hill station got further enhanced with a visit to the rose garden in the evening. Later on, we went for lunch to a restaurant and then returned to the hotel for the night.
Highlights of the day:
- Tea plantations in Munnar.
- Rose gardens in Munnar.
Day 3: Living in a houseboat in Alleppey
Serene Places To Visit On A 5N/6D Family Trip To Kerala
The next day after breakfast, we checked out of Munnar and made our way to Alleppey. We wanted to explore the backwaters of Alleppey in a houseboat. Another experience for us, that can be only experienced in Kerala.
We arrived at the houseboat in the afternoon, and just as we boarded, we got served a delicious lunch. The backwaters of Kerala were beautiful and serene. It felt like, the villages that we saw via the backwaters are a different world altogether protected from commercialization.
Our boat driver docked our houseboat at night at a village as we spent a magical night underneath the stars in rural Kerala in a houseboat.
Highlights of the day:
- Exploring in awe and admiration the beauty of rural Kerala
Day 4: Sightseeing in Kochi
Awesome Places To Visit On A 5 Day Honeymoon In Kerala
The boat brought us to our starting point at 9 am and we deboarded. The driver was present to receive us and take us to Kochi. One of the best days of our trip as we experience luxury and fine hospitality in our houseboat. We arrived in Kochi and straightaway proceeded for some sightseeing.
We went for a few hours to relax and enjoy at the Kochi Fort beach. A nice wind coupled with a calm sea made for a nice afternoon to spend at the beach side. In the evening, we finally moved to the airport for our flight back to Bengaluru.
Amazing Places To Visit On A 6D/5N Romantic Trip To Kerala
Highlights of the day:
- Walking bare feet at the beach in Kochi with my wife.
Our trip to Kerala was awesome because we both are nature loving people and Kerala is full of lush green landscape and wildlife. The most important thing I liked about the trip was, the weather on our trip to Kerala. I don’t know if and when we get the chance in our lives again, but the experience of living in a tree house was really incredible. It felt like we were staying in the jungle. A feeling that was completely different from our ordinary life.
Tips for travelers:
- Living in a tree house resort was incredible. Couples traveling to Kerala should try this for sure.
