While most people are captivated by the magnificent beauty of Bali, they often miss out on the hidden treasure that is the Nusa Penida Island. Away from the bustling crowds, this island is perfect for a tranquil getaway. Shailesh and wife had the same thought when they were planning their romantic trip to Nusa Penida. They wanted to enjoy a relaxing holiday along with a twist of adventure and that’s why they added Nusa Penida to their 7 day escapade in Indonesia.
It was my second marriage anniversary and I was planning to take my wife someplace special. While I was looking for different holiday destinations in Indonesia, I came across the underrated island of Nusa Penida. The pictures I saw were simply gorgeous and was in awe of the beauty. When I showed my wife the pictures, she was just as excited as me and soon we were packing our bags.
We had already booked our flights were now looking for a holiday package. That’s when we came across TravelTriangle and decided to go for it. We didn’t want a packed itinerary and were able to customize the package as per our preferences, that was a huge plus! Kudos to the team for keeping in touch with us all along the way and making sure we didn’t face any hiccups.

Nusa Penida Island: A Guide For An Epic Vacation In This Hidden Treasure Near Bali
Must have experiences on a 1 day trip to Nusa Penida
1. Caught in nature’s spell: Angel Billabong
As we arrived on the island, we were picked up by our cab to start the local sightseeing. Our first stop was Angel Billabong and I have to say, if you are one for natural beauty, you cannot skip out this place when visiting the island. The rock formation and also forms some beautiful lagoon pools where some people were taking a dip as well.
2. A Breathtaking Sight: The Broken Beach
Another one of nature’s wonders, the broken beach is one of the most popular places to visit in Nusa Penida. At first, we didn’t understand why since you couldn’t really reach the water as we had heard. But when we actually reached the sight we were awestruck. An arch that goes over the ocean was a result of a natural rock formation. The turquoise water beneath it was glistening and glimmering in the sun. This is a great place to get your Instagram-worthy photos!

3. Is that a T-Rex?: Kelingking Cliff
Our second last stop for the day was the Kelingking cliff also known as the T-Rex bay. The rock formation here forms the shape of a T-rex with its mouth open. You can enjoy their view from a certain point and it is so worth it! Even apart from that, it’s a wonderful viewing point. You stand there and it feels like you’re in paradise.
4. Jump & Splash!: Snorkeling at Crystal Bay
After an already eventful day filled with some stunning sights, our last stop was Crystal Bay. Here we had the option of enjoying an amazing snorkeling experience that I would recommend to all. It was so much fun and both my wife and I had a great time here. Later, we just relaxed at the beach and caught the sunset which was pleasant surprise. We didn’t know that the beach was the perfect place to enjoy the sunset since it was directly facing the west! What a great way to end an already superb trip!

Answering your queries
How many days do you need in Nusa Penida?
Yes, that’s what we did. We explored the west coast of the island and covered the major tourist attractions in the area. We thought it was enough, but if you want to explore the east coast or the whole island you can spend 3-4 days here.
How do I get from Sanur to Nusa Penida?
We took a boat to Nusa Penida from the Sanur Harbour. This is the most common way to get to the island and is quite decently priced as well.
Where can I watch sunset in Nusa Penida?
According to me the best place to catch the sunset if from Crystal Bay since it directly faces the West. But the Kelingking Cliff would also be a great place to enjoy the sunset. The scenic beauty of the place will simply leave one in awe of nature.
What do you wear to Nusa Penida?
I would say light summer clothes and definitely a good pair of sports shoes. There will be a lot of walking and treacherous areas so you want to wear footwear that has a good grip. If you plan to visit the beach, you can carry a pair of flip flops as well.
