We started to plan for our honeymoon post our wedding in December 2017. We were really confused as to how should we plan our trip as we wanted it to be relaxed and hassle-free. Wanting to spend some quality time with each other, we decided to search for honeymoon packages rather than searching for places on the internet.
Our Romantic Kerala Honeymoon Trip Plan
Day 1: Arrival at Cochin Airport, Transfer from Cochin to Munnar
Day 2: Munnar Local Sightseeing, Overnight Stay
Day 3: Transfer from Munnar to Thekkady, Thekkady Local Sightseeing
Day 4: Transfer from Thekkady to Alleppey, Overnight stay on the houseboat
Day 5: Deboard the houseboat, Fort Kochi, Beach, Transfer to Kochi Airport, Return Journey
And post a lot of research, we finally came across TravelTriangle and we both liked the idea of customizable packages under our budget. Since we were pretty clear that our honeymoon would be in India only, we decided that Kerala would be a great destination for us as it has both water activities and natural charm which is exactly what we wanted.
Tip: It is always better to be clear about your budget and things you want to do at the destination so that you can get a better itinerary and avoid all the attractions that may not suite your taste. Also, if you are on a budget constraint, there is an option to pay in easy monthly installments too.
Day 1: Welcome To The God’s Own Country
Upon our arrival at the Cochin airport around 10.45 am, our driver Eldho greeted us with a warm welcome. He had arrived in an AC sedan to pick us up and soon we were on our journey towards our first stop which was, Munnar.
On the way, we went through attractions like that of Cheeyappara waterfalls. Visiting such a refreshing attraction was a great start to our romantic Kerala honeymoon. Post a happy photo-clicking session, we headed towards the prebooked hotel of Panoramic Getaway and proceeded with the check-in process.

On reaching we saw that there was a long queue and it took us about 2 hours to get the tickets which otherwise, could have been booked online and would have saved us time and energy. Later we boarded the bus and in a matter of 15 minutes we reached the national park en route the dense forests and hilly areas.
Tip: If there is an attraction which can be prebooked online in advance, ask the travel agent to do so since it saves a lot of precious time that you otherwise spend waiting in the line.

Day 3: Road Trip From Munnar To Thekkady
Our third day was dedicated to the local sightseeing of Thekkady for which, we started out from the hotel early in the morning post breakfast. On the way, we explored an eco-friendly amusement park known as the ‘Wonder Valley’. Much famed for its exciting activities and fun games, it was a great experience to spend some time there.
On the way to our hotel in Thekkady, we also visited the famous Spice garden. Kerala is known for its spices, and we were bound to shop for some post which, we experienced the thrills of an Elephant ride.

Day 4: Hello Alleppey!
On the fourth day of our romantic Kerala honeymoon, we drove to Alleppey to experience cruising on Kerala’s backwaters which is once in a lifetime experience for all. We checked into our hotel ‘Deshadan Backwater Resort’ which is really a great place to stay. It is located on the bank of ‘Vembanad Lake’ which is the second largest lagoon in India.
Scenic beauty of this place is mesmerizing and staying here was a great experience indeed. Being surrounded by water had always been thrilling for me. Hence, we also went on to enjoy a Shikara ride to experience this lake closely. It was the first boating experience for my wife and she truly loved it.

Feeling the cool breeze brushing against us and experiencing the nature all around was beyond our expectations. Though it was a long ride, it was totally worth of our time. This entire experience made our day and now we knew why Kerala is known for its backwaters.
Day 5: Bidding Adieu To This Paradise
This was the fifth and the last day of our romantic Kerala honeymoon, and only one thing that was left was the beach. We checked-out of the hotel early to explore a bit of ‘Fort Kochi’ beach which was on our way to the airport. It was a lovely weather and we spent some time there too.
There is local market along the beach from where, one can purchase cute souvenirs. Later, we also visited the marine drive which also has a great place for the shopaholics. Post that, we finally drove back to the Cochin airport and set back on a return journey with lots of unforgettable memories.
